Amsterdam-based Tim Tor is someone who likes to play a darker minimal style, which is a mixture of a lot of things. It is best described as groovenoir (tribute to Benjamin Fehr). In his performances Tim combines minimal with gloomy ambiance sounds and odd live elements. Musically, he grew up in East-London at some weird warehouse parties near the gritty Shoreditch area. However, he was also heavily exposed to the techno scene in Brighton and Amsterdam. Today, he is mostly spotted in Berlin, as the darkness, but still openness, of this city inspires him a lot. He is the founder of RMW020 (Raar Maar Waar), an experimental club night in Amsterdam that will be launched in the winter of 2010. In this project he will be working together with people like: Easy Changes, Sebastian Koch, Frank Haag and Sandrien. Tim believes that the Dutch capital's night life has fallen asleep and is in desperate need for something new. Therefore, he is on a mission to revitalise it. Lastly, Tim is managing Berlin-based BlueCode Records with his colleague (Flipmatic). This is an alternative label that offers some of the darker grooves in town. He is heavily involved in this project as he supports the different sound that the label offers. Furthermore, he will make his appearance as a remixer on the label later this summer.
