Duhov

DJ Duhov is a Moscow deep and tech house DJ with mix CDs on GR Records and Deus Vox from 2003 to 2004, and a long run of sets in the RTS.FM archive.

Deep HouseTech House

DJ Duhov belongs to the generation of Moscow house DJs who built their names on mix CDs and radio sets in the early 2000s. Public information about him is thin: there is no official biography, so this page sticks to what releases and catalogue entries record, and says plainly where nothing has been published.

Early Releases

The earliest records of Duhov's work are mix CDs. Discogs lists Bedroom Specialist and Summer In Space, both issued in 2003 by GR Records, and tags both as deep house and tech house. The cover of Bedroom Specialist, as transcribed on Discogs, credits the artist as "DJ Duhov, Moscow", and the same listing says the recording and mastering were done at a studio in Murmansk. In 2004 came Snezhnost', a compilation on Deus Vox Records. MusicBrainz lists Summer In Space, dated 2003, as the only release group under his name.

Discogs also lists Bulletproof, a mix released through Deep Mix Moscow Radio, under the Russian-language spelling of his name.

Sound and Style

Everything catalogued under his name points the same way: deep house and tech house, delivered as long, continuous mixes. Discogs gives those two styles for each of his solo mix CDs. Later compilations broaden the picture slightly. Five Years Of Life, a 2011 digibook on Krysha Mira Music shared with Spy.Der, Nils, Daman and X-Trainer, carries Discogs style tags that run from deep house to downtempo and ambient.

Later Compilations

His later credits are group projects. Slowdance, a CD in a digipak format, appeared in 2010 with Nils and DJ Arshanitsa, and a second Slowdance edition followed in 2013 with Gavrilius and Dan Jamkinsun. Origin. 7 Years, a mix credited to Duhov and Tea Wavesword, is also listed, without a year or label. Nothing in the catalogue shows a solo release after 2004, and no label, residency or birth information has been published by the artist that we could verify.
