Minimal HouseMicrohouseDeep House

Techu is a Romanian producer whose minimal house EPs run from self-released digital records in 2020 and 2021 to a Heisenberg release in January 2024, a Juuz Records EP that July and, in October 2026, RTSFM019 on the RTS.FM label. Published information about the person is thin: no interview or long biography turned up in the sources we could open, so this page sticks to what the releases and label pages record.

A note on identity. RTS.FM's Bandcamp page for RTSFM019 credits "Techu" and calls him a Romanian producer, but it does not link to a profile. We have tied the label release to the Bandcamp profile at techu.bandcamp.com through the shared name, the Romanian origin and the minimal house tags. That is our inference, not a statement the label makes.

On the RTS.FM label

RTSFM019 was released on 13 October 2026 as a digital EP, according to the RTS.FM Bandcamp page. It has four tracks: "Katzen" (7:07), "We Ever Gonna" (6:50), an Ilya Schulz remix of "Katzen" (6:40) and a Kandaurov remix of "We Ever Gonna" (6:12). The label's description says the two originals share a consistent aesthetic while each keeps its own character, and that the remixes add atmospheric sketches. Bandcamp tags it deep house, minimal house, house and electronic, with Moscow as the label's location, and sells it as a digital album from US$7.

Ilya Schulz, who has his own RTSFM015 on the label, supplied the "Katzen" remix. Kandaurov has remixed other releases in the series, including Hugobeat's RTSFM014.

Earlier releases

Techu's Bandcamp page, which lists Bucharest as his location, carries no biography, only placeholder text and a booking contact. It tags the music rominimal, microhouse and minimal house. The releases listed there include:

  • Passing By EP, 11 February 2020: "Eight" (8:45) and "Twentyfour" (8:07), plus a piano edit.
  • Olimpiada EP, 25 August 2021: "Olimpiada" (7:48) and "Vrei Sa Gustati" (7:25).
  • Def Not / Slingshot, 25 January 2024, on Heisenberg. The Bandcamp credits give the name Tecusan Robert-Gabriel, and the release description places him in Brasov and presents him as a rising Romanian artist working in minimal house for dancefloors and after-hours. The two tracks are "Def Not" (7:35) and "Slingshot" (6:40).

The page also lists Saul Gone EP, Regasire EP and an album called Old and dusty, but with no dates or label credits, so we do not date them here.

On the Hungarian label Juuz Records, JRD012 Techu came out on 4 July 2024, according to the label's Bandcamp page. It contains "The Apple" and "Takeoff", with a Fedo remix of "The Apple" and a Constratti remix of "Takeoff", and was mastered by Silat Beksi. The label calls it the follow-up to Techu's 2022 release JRD001 and a 12th digital release in its series. Juuz's catalogue also credits him as a remixer on JRD040, Rosalcodo's release with Electricano and Techu remixes, and as an artist on JRD038, Constratti & Techu and Friends.

Sound and style

The tags on his own releases and on the Juuz and RTS.FM pages cluster around minimal house, microhouse and deep house, and his own page uses "rominimal" as well. That is the Romanian minimal sound whose history we trace in our Rominimal article. Track lengths of six to nine minutes on the originals fit the format, but we have not attributed stylistic claims that a source does not make.

RTS.FM Connection

RTS.FM's YouTube archive holds a set titled "Techu | Groovy Tunes x RTS.FM Unclave Koh-Phangan, Thailand 23.03.2025", about 1 hour 56 minutes long and uploaded on 15 May 2025. The title is our evidence that the set is by him; the video's own description was not available to us, so we cannot confirm which profile it links to. Together with RTSFM019, it makes up the connection between Techu and RTS.FM.
