Genning

Genning is a producer and DJ whose records lean toward dub, deep house and minimal house, and who released the EP RTSFM002 on the RTS.FM label in September 2024. He was recorded for RTS.FM St. Petersburg in 2023, and a compilation of the label's resident artists included his track a year later. There is no published biography or interview in the sources we could open, so this page follows the discography, the label releases and the archive.

On the RTS.FM label

The release is catalogued as RTSFM002 and was released on 13 September 2024 as a digital release, according to the RTS.FM Bandcamp page. The title there is "Genning - RTSFM002". It has three tracks: "The Green Fruit", "Second Rainbow" and "Ocean's Lamantin". The page credits mastering to Kirill Kandaurov and tags the release deep house, minimal house, house, electronic and dub techno, with Moscow as the label's location.

On 17 October 2025 Genning appeared on RTSFM011, the compilation of resident artists from the label, with "Taken Other Way". The other contributors were Victor Polo, Nemec and Nicolas Barnes.

Discography

Discogs lists a Genning described as a DJ, with the given name Maksim, and a long run of releases from 2018. The SoundCloud handle RTS.FM published for him, maxim-genning, matches that first name, but the SoundCloud link on the Discogs profile is a different one, so we treat the match as likely rather than confirmed.

On that profile, the main credits begin with Arround on Sezonaz in 2018 and Winter's Exhale on MixCult in 2019. Later entries include At The Balcon / Mountains Road on Maison Profonde Recordings (2020), several MixCult EPs in 2021 and 2022, Moon's Rain as a limited clear 10-inch lathe cut on CRYSTAL MUD (2023), Evening Space on Greyscale (2023), Sunlight EP on TAMIZDAT (2024), Discovery on MixCult (2024), Wind Blows Above Flowers on Vuo Records (2024) and Dub Echoes on Refraction Records (2024).

He has also remixed for others. Discogs lists his remix of Sapurra's Never Been To Detroit on MixCult in 2022, and the same MixCult EP by Natural Piece of Aloe that Ilya Schulz remixed in 2021. Sapurra, the house alias of Sapunov and the artist behind RTSFM017, is another artist from the RTS.FM label family.

Sound and style

The label's own tags for RTSFM002 include dub techno alongside deep and minimal house, and a Discogs title such as Dub Echoes points the same way. The tags are the strongest evidence we have, since no interview describes his approach. His appearances on MixCult's Marbled Dubs compilation volumes, which Discogs lists from 2018 to 2020, carry the same dub reference in their title.

RTS.FM Connection

RTS.FM's archive holds five videos with Genning in the title. Three are the tracks of RTSFM002, uploaded on 18 September 2024, and one is "Taken Other Way" from RTSFM011. The fifth is a livestream session recorded by RTS.FM St. Petersburg at Washing Maschine Store on 18 March 2023, according to its description, which runs about an hour. The archive is covered in more detail in our look at what RTS.FM has recorded.
