HouseTechno

SIT is a two-person project, not a solo producer. It brings together Cristi Cons and Vlad Caia, two Bucharest musicians who each have a solo catalogue and a stake in the city's newer labels. As SIT they make long, patient house and techno that Bandcamp Daily places in the current wave of Romanian minimal, and their two albums, 2019's Invisibility and 2026's Synaptic, both came out on Sushitech.

The Duo

SIT stands for Sideways Invisibility Theory, according to Bandcamp Daily's July 2026 scene report by Ted Davis. The duo's Bandcamp page lists them as SIT: Cristi Cons and Vlad Caia, based in Bucharest, with the tags electronic, house and techno. The page carries no biography, so what follows about the members comes from the Bandcamp Daily report.

Cons is a trained cellist and a co-founder of Amphia Records. According to the report he also performs in Petre Inspirescu's π Ensemble and in Amorf, alongside pianist Mischa Blanos and Caia, and he has a solo album, Out of Cycle (2021). Caia first came across Rominimal while studying in Norway, helped form Amphia and runs the studio Composure Audio Works. His 2018 debut album Division I is described there as Rominimal at its funkiest. For the scene's background, see our history of rominimal.

Sound and Style

Bandcamp Daily writes that on SIT, Cons and Caia join forces and push their songs to euphoric heights. It describes Invisibility as bubbly, with hi-hats driving translucent synth stabs, and calls the MIDI jams stripped back but boisterous.

Invisibility and Synaptic

Invisibility was released on 20 November 2019 on Sushitech Records, written and produced by Cons and Caia. It has ten tracks, from "Elevation" to "Webspace", and runs about 79 minutes, with every track longer than seven minutes. The release is listed as Invisibility Chapter I and II.

Synaptic followed on 6 January 2026, also on Sushitech. It is a 12-track collaboration album with guests on every track after the opener, including Silverlining, O.Bee, Jay Tripwire, Jamie Leather, DeWalta, Sublee, Cezar, Joe Rolét, Lawrence, Christopher Ledger and Mischa Blanos. It was mastered by Yossi Amoyal at Wood White Studios in Berlin and issued as a triple 12-inch gatefold LP with a digital album, plus a collector's edition of 100 copies on clear marbled vinyl that has sold out.

The Label: Sushitech

Sushitech Records describes itself on its Bandcamp page as a vinyl label focused on the deeper sides of house and techno. It is based in Berlin, founded and run by Yossi Amoyal, and active since 2005.
