DJ & Producer · Caserta, Italy
Joseph Capriati

Joseph Capriati, born in Caserta in 1987, is the Italian techno DJ behind the Redimension label and the Metamorfosi parties at Amnesia Ibiza.
Joseph Capriati was eleven when he started DJing, and he has spent the years since proving that stamina and feeling are not opposites. The Italian techno DJ, who once played a set of more than 27 hours at Sunwaves in Romania, now holds one of the biggest Tuesday nights on the Amnesia Ibiza calendar and, on Saturday 10 October 2026, is booked to play both the sunset and the sunrise of the club's 50th anniversary Closing Festival.
Caserta, Naples and Early Years
Capriati was born Giuseppe Capriati on 25 July 1987 in Caserta, a city in Campania a short drive north of Naples. Wikipedia dates his first DJ sets to 1998, at age 11, and has him as a resident at the Disco Seven club under the name Prince J. His mentors were two Neapolitan figures, Rino Cerrone and Markantonio, with whom he also formed the DJ trio Neapolitan Gangsta. Some sources place him in Naples rather than Caserta, and at least one gives a different birth year, but Wikipedia and several other profiles agree on Caserta and 1987.
Drumcode, Redimension and the Albums
His professional debut came in 2007 with the Formaldehyde EP on Sasha Carassi's Globox Recordings. In 2009 he debuted on Adam Beyer's Drumcode with two EPs, Sidechains/Kontrol Room and Iron Pump/Black Line, and became a regular on the label, also releasing the Login EP on Chris Liebing's CLR that year. His first album, Save My Soul (Analytic Trail), followed in 2010, and the second, Self Portrait, arrived on Drumcode in 2013. In 2015 he compiled and mixed Fabric 80 for London's fabric.
In 2016 he launched his own label, Redimension, whose first release featured Beyer, including the tracks "Parallels" and "External Links". The third album, Metamorfosi, was released on Redimension Music on 4 September 2020, and a remix collection followed in 2022. More recent releases include Peace & Blessings with Arnold Jarvis on Nervous Records and the Mantra EP with Indira Paganotto, both 2024.
Sound and Marathon Sets
Capriati works in techno and house, with a taste for melody that distinguishes him from the harder end of the genre; DJ Mag described Self Portrait as a melodic dancefloor body of work, and his Metamorfosi parties are billed around techno, house and melodic sets. His reputation is built on length. In November 2017 he played a roughly 25.5-hour set at Heart in Miami, and in April 2019 he went past 27 hours at Sunwaves, a festival where he is a staple. He has played Berghain, Awakenings in Amsterdam and fabric, has been a regular at Spain's Monegros Festival since 2011, and has appeared at Time Warp in Mannheim since 2016, where he has closed Stage 1 in recent years.
Italian audiences have long claimed him as one of their own: he has played Kappa FuturFestival in Turin several times, including the 2018 edition, where he played the Saturday. Fellow Neapolitan Marco Carola is another of the festival's regular Italian headliners.
Metamorfosi and Ibiza
Metamorfosi is both the title of his 2020 album and the name of his party series. The party ran at Amnesia Ibiza in summer 2022 and again in 2023, and travelled to London, with a sold-out night at HERE at Outernet in February 2023. During the 2024 Ibiza season his guests included Paul Kalkbrenner, Jamie Jones, Seth Troxler and Sara Landry. In May 2022 he also hosted a UNICEF fundraiser, Joseph Capriati and Friends, at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium in Naples to help children affected by the war in Ukraine.
2026: Amnesia's 50th Year and the Top 100
Capriati's 2026 is a heavy Ibiza year; one report called it his longest residency to date. Metamorfosi runs on Tuesdays at Amnesia from 30 June to 29 September across the Terrace and Club Room, and he opened the club's season on 9 May with a sunrise back-to-back with Josh Baker, who runs his own Thursday residency. The season ends on Saturday 10 October with Amnesia's 50th anniversary Closing Festival, a roughly 20-hour event: Capriati plays the sunset slot in the outdoor Anniversary Area, and he and Baker close with another sunrise back-to-back, according to Ibiza Spotlight. RTS.FM's guide to Ibiza's 2026 closing parties covers the rest of the island's season-end calendar.
In the DJ Mag Top 100 DJs 2026 poll, revealed on 6 October at [UNVRS] Ibiza, Capriati placed No. 68. DJ Mag's own listing marks him as a new entry, and in 2025 he had finished outside the 100, at No. 107 in the magazine's "next 50".
