Clubbing in Spain: Barcelona, Madrid, Valencia, Ibiza
A city-by-city guide to Spanish club life: the clubs, nights, hours and seasons, with a week of Resident Advisor listings for 13 areas and what they miss.

Spain has more than one nightlife. It has a year-round city scene in Barcelona and Madrid, a seven-month island season in Ibiza, a half-mythologised rave heritage around Valencia, and a patchwork of smaller regional rooms that barely appear on the international radar. This guide covers all of them, with a focus on Barcelona, Madrid and Valencia, and it names the clubs, the recurring nights and the promoters that we could source.
To see where Spain's electronic nights actually happen, and how often, we collected Resident Advisor's public event listings for all 13 of its Spain areas on 24 October 2026 and counted what is listed from Saturday 24 October to Sunday 1 November. That week is unusual in two ways, and the guide says so: it includes Halloween weekend, and it falls at the start of the winter, when the big Ibiza clubs have been shut for a few weeks. RA lists only events that promoters submit to it, so it over-represents ticketed electronic nights and under-represents commercial, Latin and word-of-mouth parties. Treat every RA figure below as a snapshot of RA, not a census of Spanish clubbing.
The short version: on RA, Barcelona is Spain's busiest city by a distance and has something on every night; Madrid is a three-night week on RA, packed into Thursday to Saturday; Valencia has a strong heritage but a small RA footprint, which says more about where its promoters sell tickets than about the scene; and Ibiza is on its winter tail, with a handful of local rooms open. We link each claim to what we could verify and flag what we could not.
What RA shows across Spain
RA listings, 24 Oct to 1 Nov 2026. "Upcoming" is RA's own total of future events for each area on 24 October.
| RA area | Upcoming on RA | Listed events, 24 Oct to 1 Nov |
|---|---|---|
| Barcelona | 567 | 185 (134 in the Mon to Sun week) |
| Madrid | 388 | 99 (58 in the Mon to Sun week) |
| South (RA bucket) | 53 | 18 |
| Valencia | 52 | 20 |
| Ibiza | 42 | 17 |
| Malaga | 35 | 16 |
| Mallorca | 10 | 4 |
| Alicante | 10 | 3 |
| Bilbao | 8 | 1 |
| East (RA bucket) | 7 | 1 |
| Canary Islands | 7 | 4 |
| North (RA bucket) | 0 found | 0 |
| Benidorm | 0 | 0 |
Two things stand out. First, the gap between Barcelona and everywhere else: Barcelona has 567 upcoming events on RA and Madrid 388, while no other area reaches 60. Second, the weekly rhythm is very different from city to city: Barcelona lists events every night of the week and puts 62 per cent of the week's listings on Friday and Saturday, while Madrid's RA week is almost entirely Thursday, Friday and Saturday and Valencia's is Friday and Saturday. RA's "East", "North" and "South" areas are RA's own catch-all buckets, not geographic regions (the "South" bucket in this window listed Girona, Gijon and Basque venues), so we use them only for the table.
For the cities that matter most to readers, here are the venues with the most RA listings in the window (a listing means an event on RA, so a club with several nights scores higher):
| City | Venues with the most RA listings, 24 Oct to 1 Nov 2026 |
|---|---|
| Barcelona | City Hall (10), Macarena Club (9), Moog Club (9), Bridge 48 (7), M7 Club (7), Parc del Forum (7, Halloween open air), Sala Apolo (6), LAUT (5), Switch Bar (5) |
| Madrid | El Sotano (6), Lula Club (5), Specka, Cadavra, The Bassement, Subcero Club and Skin Club (4 each), Mondo, High Club Room, Lasociacion, Core, Club Malasana, El Internacional and Hangar48 (3 each) |
| Valencia | Spook Club, Oven Club and Resume Valencia (4 each), Barraca, 33/45 Club and Killing Time (2 each), Veles Vents and Madre (1 each) |
| Ibiza | Akasha Las Dalias (5), Sigma (3), Esbirra and Pacha (2 each) |
| Malaga | Doggy Kloeb and Studio Club (4 each), The Club (3), Paris15 (2) |
Barcelona
The scene in one paragraph
Barcelona's club map runs from a multi-room Poblenou institution to an 80-capacity booth room in the Gothic Quarter, a ballroom that has stood since 1903 and a Funktion-One room inside the Poble Espanyol on Montjuïc, all within one city. The geography is clustered: Raval and the Gothic Quarter for small, loud rooms (Moog, Macarena, Les Enfants Brillants); Poble-sec for LAUT and Nitsa at Sala Apolo; Poblenou for Razzmatazz and the Bridge_48 studio collective; Montjuïc for INPUT and, in summer, La Terrrazza. The big beach-front clubs are a separate story (see the local debate section below). What follows is built from official club pages, RA's own Barcelona clubs guide, and press, and anything we could not source is flagged.
What the RA week shows
All figures in this section are RA listings, 24 Oct to 1 Nov 2026. RA lists only events that promoters submit, so it over-represents electronic and ticketed events and under-represents commercial, Latin and mainstream rooms. The window also includes Halloween weekend (Fri 30 and Sat 31 Oct), which inflates the weekend peak, so read the pattern as a high-water mark, not an average week.
RA showed 567 upcoming events for Barcelona on 24 October, against 388 for Madrid. Day by day:
- Sat 24 Oct: 40
- Sun 25 Oct: 11
- Mon 26 Oct: 6
- Tue 27 Oct: 7
- Wed 28 Oct: 13
- Thu 29 Oct: 16
- Fri 30 Oct: 33
- Sat 31 Oct: 50
- Sun 1 Nov: 9
For the full Monday to Sunday week (26 Oct to 1 Nov) that is 134 listed events. Friday and Saturday together account for 83 of them, or 61.9 per cent. Monday to Thursday add up to 42 (31.3 per cent) and Sunday is 9 (6.7 per cent). Halloween Saturday alone, at 50, is more than eight times a Monday (6). But the weekday floor is real: Wednesday and Thursday together carry 29 listings (21.6 per cent), roughly the same as Friday on its own. For comparison, the same RA snapshot shows Madrid with 58 events across the equivalent week and nothing at all listed on Monday, Tuesday or Sunday 1 Nov, while Barcelona has something every night.
Venues with the most RA listings in the window: City Hall (10), Macarena Club (9), Moog Club (9), Bridge 48 (7), M7 Club (7), Parc del Forum (7, the Halloween open-air "Balla Barcelona Festival"), Sala Apolo (6), LAUT (5) and Switch Bar (5). Biggest by RA "interested" count were the Balla Barcelona Festival nights at Parc del Forum on 30 and 31 Oct (3.4K, 3.2K, 2.1K, 1.4K, 902), then Fury's 3rd Anniversary day 2 at Razzmatazz (1.1K), Polenta at La Paloma on 24 Oct (1.1K), People Halloween at Atlantic Club (727), Boris Halloween (709), NOM presents John Digweed at Bikini (645) and Lost at Albura (637).
Clubs to know
Razzmatazz
Razzmatazz is at Carrer dels Almogàvers 122 in Poblenou (second entrance for rooms 2 and 3 on Carrer de Pamplona 88, per the club's own site). Wikipedia dates the current venue to 2000, when the former Sala Zeleste, a concert room that moved to Almogàvers in 1986 and closed in 2000 after debts to Spanish social security, was renewed under new owners and renamed after a Pulp song. The club's site says "25 years connecting music and the city" and lists five numbered rooms; Wikipedia's infobox gives capacities of 2,100 (main hall), 940 (The Loft) and 200 (Lolita), which we could not cross-check on the official site. Its programme is organised as nights under the RAZZCLUBS banner: RazzClub (Friday and Saturday, a wide electronic and rap mix), Fuego (Friday), Human (Saturday: techno, house, electro, breaks, rave, industrial, synth and acid), Torax (Sunday: techno and house), plus midweek pop and hits nights (El Dirty on Wednesday, Mandanga on Thursday) and Common People on Sunday. RA's guide highlights Human as the Saturday series for multidisciplinary artists, live bands and local talent. Fury, the event behind the "3rd Anniversary" listings, is on the site for Sunday 1 November with rooms named Fury, Madhouse, Kinyxx and Hardcore Maniaks; we could not confirm who promotes Fury. Razzlloween on Friday 30 October showed a waiting list.
Sala Apolo and Nitsa Club
Sala Apolo sits on Avinguda del Paral·lel in Poble-sec. The venue's own site calls it one of the oldest dance halls in Europe and traces it to an amusement park on Paral·lel, later a ballroom, bingo hall, skating club and nightclub; it marked a 75th anniversary in 2018. Spanish Wikipedia says it was born in 1943 as a dance hall and gives a capacity of 2,900 across three rooms (not confirmed on the official site). The club night is Nitsa, which RA's guide describes as housed in the former theatre and a fixture of the city's electronic scene for over three decades, with big names on Fridays and Saturdays across two rooms; it lists Aphex Twin, Kenny Larkin and Carl Craig among past acts. Apolo's own agenda for 24 October was "Nitsa: Yung Prado All Night Long", and its other recurring brands include Diablada, Bresh, Nalgas Club, Milkshake, Oxido and El Dúplex. The site also announced a d&b Soundscape immersive system debuting 5 November.
Moog
Moog is at Carrer Arc del Teatre 3 in El Raval and bills itself as the first techno club in Barcelona. RA's guide gives "open since 1996" and says it runs 365 days a year, with pop-oriented sets upstairs and harder techno and house on the underground floor. The club's site shows it is part of the Mas i Mas group and lists hours of 23:59 to 05:00 Sunday to Thursday and 23:59 to 06:00 on Friday and Saturday. Its agenda runs fixed weekly nights: Carol Nyx on Sundays, Uroz on Mondays, Rubén Seoane on Tuesdays and Javi Gon on Saturdays. Listed event prices were mostly 5 to 10 euros, with headline nights up to 20 euros (for example DJ Hell and Reka at 20 euros).
Macarena Club
Macarena Club is at Carrer Nou de Sant Francesc 5 in the Gothic Quarter. RA's guide says it has kept its name since the 1920s, when it opened as a flamenco tablao, that capacity is 80, that it runs a Funktion-One system with the DJ booth in the middle of the floor, and that it is open seven days a week. Time Out dates its life as an electronic club to 2011 (older than RA's guide, which says seven days; Time Out says Thursday to Sunday, so treat the opening days as something to check). Music is techno and house.
INPUT High Fidelity Dance Club
INPUT High Fidelity Dance Club is inside Poble Espanyol on Montjuïc (Av. de Francesc Ferrer i Guàrdia 13). Its own site describes a Funktion-One system with 360-degree LED visuals and says it is open weekends. RA's guide describes an open-plan room for headsy house and techno with weekly international guests and no named residents. In the window its agenda included CULTO "It's A Ritual" (24 October) and a Halloween night by PRISM with Quelza. We could not source an opening year.
City Hall
City Hall is at Rambla Catalunya 2 to 4 in a former theatre. Its site says it is open every day of the year and programs international techno, hard techno, house and urban music, with a fixed weekday format: Monday Perreo, Tuesday Tiny Rave (hard bounce, schranz, industrial), Wednesday showcase, Thursday two rooms. It topped the RA window with 10 listings. We could not source an opening year or capacity.
LAUT
LAUT is a small club in a former carpentry workshop at Carrer de Vila i Vilà 63 in Poble-sec. A listing site gives 2017 as its opening year and Friday and Saturday midnight to 05:00 as hours (unverified on an official page, which would not load for us). RA's guide calls it a no-frills industrial room with a powerful system, programming dark techno, house and experimental sounds.
Bikini, La Paloma and others
Bikini (Sala Bikini) bills itself as both a nightclub and a concert venue. Its official site lists accounts for Bikini Club, live concerts, Tunnel and NOM, so NOM appears to be one of its in-house nights; we could not confirm who runs it, nor the address from that page. RA lists NOM presenting John Digweed at Bikini on Saturday 31 October.
La Paloma is on the Raval and Sant Antoni border. Monocle reports it opened as a dance hall in 1903, dancing stopped in 2007 after long-running noise complaints, and it reopened after 16 years; Mixmag and RA both date the reopening to the end of 2023. Mixmag gives capacity as 1,000. Owner Mercè March has run it since 1977 (Monocle). Mixmag lists regular nights from Glove Party, Polenta, Locobongo, Vida Club, Mentha, Eck Echo, Odd Club and Mainline Collective. RA's autumn 2025 programme included Louie Vega, Mr Scruff, Soul Clap and Yuksek.
Les Enfants Brillants is in El Raval on Carrer de Guàrdia, with an L-Acoustics system and a capacity of 400, programming what RA's guide calls classy minimal and tech house. Studio Stereo is, per RA's guide, an "audiophile social club" in a 19th-century Catalan estate with a Pequod Acoustics dancefloor and a separate listening room; RA places it in the Dreta de l'Eixample but also mentions La Rambla, so we would not quote an address.
Bridge_48 is less a club than a Poblenou collective and studios complex: Mixmag (5 June 2024) says it launched in 2019, runs nine recording studios plus co-working and event space, and organises the annual Bridge Festival. M7 Club (7 RA listings) and Row14 could not be verified from any source we could open.
Promoters and series
Only what we could source. Studio Stereo and Les Enfants (Brillants) appear above as venues and also as presenters of their own nights. NOM appears on Bikini's site as one of its accounts. CULTO is listed on INPUT's agenda. Polenta runs nights at La Paloma (Mixmag), but the sources do not say who is behind it. For Lost (Festa al Port at Albura, with Hassler, a.k.a. Coyu, and DJ Gamba in the RA listing), Inner Circle (three nights at Circulo), Electrostad (two nights at Chica Club and Sidecar), EELF, Seguim, Higher, ExtraMostra x n-ear, AFRODISE, Jackies, Happy Techno, Open Mixer (regular Wednesdays and Fridays at TOC Hostel) and Fury, we could not confirm who runs them. Search results suggested an RA description of Electrostad as a weekly Sunday night created by local DJs at Sidecar in Plaça Reial, but we could not open that page.
Resident DJs
Only a few can be named from a club's own pages. Moog's site fronts Carol Nyx (Sundays), Uroz (Mondays), Rubén Seoane (Tuesdays) and Javi Gon (Saturdays) as weekly hosts, and its DJ pages list "residents and guests" together (including Joan Oh and Paula Zapy) without saying which are which. RA's guide names no residents at Macarena, INPUT, Les Enfants Brillants or Studio Stereo. We would not list further names.
Festivals and the calendar
Sónar's site lists 18 to 20 June 2026 and 17 to 19 June 2027; Wikipedia gives its first edition as 1994. Primavera Sound is at Parc del Fòrum, where Wikipedia says it has been held since 2005 after the first edition in 2001 at Poble Espanyol; the same page gives 4 to 6 June 2026 and 3 to 5 June 2027 (we could not confirm on the official site). In autumn the Parc del Fòrum hosts the Halloween Balla Barcelona Festival (RA). RA's guide also points to SOUNDIT, an open-air series at the Plaza Monumental (Fort Pienc), with Palms Trax, Honey Dijon and Daphni announced for 2026.
Practical
- Hours (official pages): Moog 23:59 to 05:00 Sunday to Thursday and 23:59 to 06:00 Friday and Saturday; LAUT midnight to 05:00 Friday and Saturday (listing site).
- Prices: Moog's agenda showed 5 to 20 euros. Razzmatazz shows sold-out nights with no box office sales, so buy ahead for big nights.
- Door and ID: we found no sourced rules on minimum age or ID checks. Check each venue.
- Finding nights: club agendas (Apolo, Razzmatazz, Moog, City Hall, INPUT) and RA's Barcelona listings.
- Licensing and legal closing hours for clubs: we could not find a current official source, so we state none.
What to avoid and the local debate
The city has a record of fighting nightlife in its dense centre. In 2019 Barcelona declined to renew the beachfront concessions of Shôko, Pachá, Carpe Diem and Opium, ending 21 June, with the premises earmarked for a CSIC marine-sciences expansion, and opened safety sanctions on three of them (Time Out, 7 May 2019). In November 2023 the city suspended two decrees that had capped bar hours (2am) and terraces (11pm) around Plaça George Orwell and Carrer Joaquim Costa for noise; the council cited procedural defects and promised a new anti-noise plan and eight more sound meters (Ara). La Paloma's closure from 2007, which lasted 16 years, followed long-running noise complaints (Monocle).
Madrid
The scene in one paragraph
On Resident Advisor's map, Madrid is Spain's second electronic city, behind Barcelona, and it is built around contrasts: basement rooms off Gran Via and Calle Alcala at one end, and at the other Fabrik, the largest macro-club in the Community of Madrid, sitting in an industrial estate in Humanes de Madrid. The city has a long club memory (Specka has been open since 1989, Mondo Disko says it has run since 1999, Fabrik opened in 2003) and a newer layer of small specialist rooms booking hard techno, house, disco and queer or kink nights side by side.
One caveat before the numbers. Everything below that cites Resident Advisor refers to RA listings, 24 Oct to 1 Nov 2026. RA only shows events that promoters submit, so it over-represents electronic, ticketed nights and under-represents commercial, Latin and mainstream clubs. The window also includes Halloween weekend (Fri 30 and Sat 31 Oct), which skews any week.
A bit of history: the Movida, and its limits
Madrid's nightlife mythology starts with La Movida Madrilena, the countercultural wave that followed Franco's death in 1975. Wikipedia gives its traditional starting point as a tribute concert to "Canito" on 9 February 1980 at the civil engineering school of the Technical University of Madrid, and says it lasted until the middle of the 1980s. It drew on punk, synth-pop and dada, and is tied to the Socialist mayor Enrique Tierno Galvan, whose city government took an open approach and subsidised artistic projects. Pedro Almodovar is its best-known international face. Cult rooms named in the Spanish article include Rock-Ola, La Via Lactea, Marquee and El Penta.
The honest limit: the Movida was a rock, pop and synth-pop moment, not a club-music one, and none of the sources we opened draw a line from it to Madrid's techno and house scene. We have deliberately not claimed a direct lineage.
What the RA week shows
RA lists 388 upcoming events in its Madrid area on 24 Oct 2026, against 567 for Barcelona. Over the nine days from Sat 24 Oct to Sun 1 Nov, RA lists 99 Madrid events: 35 on Sat 24, 6 on Sun 25, none on Mon 26 or Tue 27, 1 on Wed 28, 12 on Thu 29, 26 on Fri 30, 19 on Sat 31, and none on Sun 1 Nov.
In the clean Monday to Sunday week (26 Oct to 1 Nov), which holds 58 listed events:
- Thursday 29 Oct: 12 events, 20.7 per cent of the week
- Friday 30 Oct: 26 events, 44.8 per cent
- Saturday 31 Oct: 19 events, 32.8 per cent
- Thursday to Saturday together: 57 of 58, or 98.3 per cent
- Wednesday 28 Oct: 1 event, 1.7 per cent
- Monday, Tuesday and Sunday 1 Nov: nothing listed
In plain terms, RA's Madrid week is a three-night week. Two further points. First, the Halloween Saturday (19) is lighter than the Saturday before it (35), and Friday 30 is the busiest night of the week. We cannot say why from the data; Halloween nights may lean towards themed, commercial parties that RA under-covers, but that is a guess. Second, the empty weekdays are partly a listing effect: venue pages describe weeknight programming that RA does not show for this window (a Cadavra guide lists weeknight parties from about EUR 6 or free entry, and LuLa Club lists Wednesday to Saturday opening). Read the blank Monday and Tuesday as "no electronic ticketed events on RA", not "Madrid is shut".
Venues with the most RA listings: El Sotano (6), Lula Club (5), Specka, Cadavra, The Bassement, Subcero Club and Skin Club (4 each), then Mondo, High Club Room, Lasociacion, Core, Club Malasana, El Internacional and Hangar48 Club (3 each). Series in titles include Subcero (four nights at Subcero Club), HYBRID (two at Sala Coco, e.g. HYBRID: DOCTOR MUCKE), Tortilla (two at High Club Room), NEOTIKA (two at Arana Club), DEVIANT LODGE (two at Skin Club), NITRO at The Bassement (Thu 29 Oct, Pawlowski and Sandwicho b2b TOTTI, about 1.2K RA "interested") and BRNT at LAB theCLUB (Fri 30 Oct, with Mathame, SLVR and 617).
Clubs to know
Prices, hours and door rules come from venue pages or third-party listing guides checked in late September and October 2026, and they change by event. Treat them as indicative.
Fabrik is the heavyweight. Spanish Wikipedia says it opened in 2003 on the M-413 in Humanes de Madrid, with a 5,000-capacity main room (a third-party guide says 6,000 for the venue overall), seven stages after the 2023 addition of Area 19, and a 43-room hotel on site since 2019. The techno brand CODE has run since the opening and elrow has had a residency since 2018, per the same article. DJ Mag readers placed Fabrik second in the world in 2011 and 17th in 2024; the third-party guide adds 14th in 2025 and 8th in 2026, which we could not confirm on DJ Mag itself. From that guide: events are mainly on Saturdays and special dates, doors open between 18:00 and 22:00 depending on the event, some parties run more than 12 hours, entry is 18+, EU citizens need a national ID card or passport, non-EU visitors a passport (driving licences are not accepted), and official shuttle buses run from Pintor Rosales 2 by the Templo de Debod. CODE's 23rd anniversary on 11 October 2026 was priced at EUR 50 general, EUR 90 VIP and EUR 150 backstage.
Mondo Disko (Mondo) calls itself an electronic music nightclub "since '99", and its site footer names DANCE WITH MACHINES, SL. Its nights are currently listed at Sala But, Calle de Barcelo 11, plus the open-air Terraza Jowke in Alcorcon for its Mondo Open Air and Mondo Krystal events; the site also names Club Cocó. A listing guide gives Thursday, Saturday and holiday eves, 23:59 to 06:00 (some afterparties to 08:00), 18+, and EUR 23 for Sala But nights on 10 and 11 October 2026. Mondo Open Air on 3 October 2026 (15:00 to 23:00) was EUR 35, with shuttle buses from Atocha. An older ticketing page still places Mondo Disko at Sala Coco, Calle Alcala 20, so the brand has moved between rooms; check the address before you go. RA lists Mondo three times in the window.
Sala Coco is the Calle Alcala room that ticketing pages link to Mondo Disko, and RA lists two HYBRID nights there in the window. We could not open a page for the room itself, so its history and the details of HYBRID stay out of this guide.
Specka is the elder statesman: a listing guide gives Calle Orense 26 (basement), says the club has run since 1989 and calls itself the longest-running electronic music discotheque in Spain. Its sound moved from post-punk, new wave and EBM through trance to techno and electro, on a Funktion-One system. Club nights are Fridays and Saturdays from about 23:30 or midnight, 18+, tickets roughly EUR 6 to 30.
The Bassement is at Calle de Galileo 26 in Chamberi: about 1,000 square metres in two areas with four bars, open mainly Fridays and Saturdays from midnight to 06:00, re-entry from 02:30 with a hand stamp. It is 18+ and wants a physical DNI, NIE or passport (photos of ID are refused). October 2026 Laster Club nights started at EUR 17.63 and other nights were EUR 22.04. Named series are Laster Club, NITRO, DVRKSUN and CACAO; a separate guide describes Laster as a techno night with a no-photo, no-video policy.
LAB theCLUB sits in the attic of Chamartin station, with access from Calle Agustin de Foxa 40, per its own site. A third-party guide says it was formerly Macumba. The site lists Mathame on Friday 30 October, La Malquerida presents Roger Sanchez on Sunday 1 November, Pendulum DJ set on 6 November and Claptone on 7 November, and says Saturdays belong to the Space of Sound series.
LuLa Club is at Gran Via 54: mostly house and tech house, Wednesday to Saturday from 00:00 to 06:00, 21+, casual dress code; Andrea Oliva on 9 October 2026 was listed at EUR 20 without a drink. El Sotano is a basement concert hall and club at Calle de las Maldonadas 6 in La Latina; Madrid's tourism office says it opened in 2015, closed in 2016 and reopened in 2020, and a guide lists club nights Thursday to Sunday from 23:59, mostly techno and house from local promoters, with concerts open from age 16. Cadavra, at Calle del Caballero de Gracia 10 near Sol, runs early concerts then DJs on Fridays and Saturdays from midnight (18+ for club nights); a listing says the SIGH.CLUB night marks its ninth anniversary there in November 2026 with Carl Finlow.
berlinClub runs inside Cafe Berlin at Costanilla de los Angeles 20. A guide says club nights began in 2012, the cafe reopened in a 500 square metre space in March 2016 after closing its old room in January 2016, and capacity is 254. Programming leans on jazz, soul, disco and house; the Danke fifth anniversary on 2 October 2026 ran 00:30 to 06:00 at EUR 12 early bird to EUR 20 at the door.
Skin Club (listed as Skin by one guide) is described there as a kink and queer-resistance club linked to Stardust, a techno and hard techno party running since 2003 that mixes performance and BDSM; RA lists two DEVIANT LODGE nights there. Subcero Club, High Club Room (Tortilla), Arana Club (NEOTIKA), Club Magno and Hangar48 Club are all in the RA week, but we found no page we could open for any of them, so we claim nothing beyond their listings.
Festivals and the calendar
Madrid's festival layer sits mostly outside electronic music. Wikipedia lists Mad Cool (pop, rock, indie, some DJs) on 8 to 11 July 2026 at the Iberdrola Music site in Villaverde, and says Dcode (indie, rock, pop and electronic, Complutense University campus) began in 2011; we did not confirm Dcode's dates. For electronic fans the calendar is the club calendar: CODE and elrow at Fabrik, Mondo Open Air day parties, and an autumn run of anniversaries (CODE's 23rd, Danke's fifth, SIGH.CLUB's ninth).
Rules, doors and the Madrid Arena shadow
On licensing, the Community of Madrid said in a 30 April 2022 press release that under a new order discotheques and dance halls keep a 17:00 opening and 05:30 closing, with restaurant-licensed discotheques allowed to open from 12:00. We could not confirm whether that order has changed, and several listings above show nights to 06:00 and afterparties to 08:00. We cannot reconcile those from the sources we opened, so check any specific night.
Door norms vary: Specka and The Bassement say 18+, LuLa 21+, El Sotano admits 16+ to concerts. ID rules differ too, from Fabrik (passport or national ID, no driving licences) to Mondo (passport, national ID or driving licence recommended).
A Halloween-weekend guide to Madrid should mention the Madrid Arena. On 1 November 2012, at an electronic Halloween party with Steve Aoki on the bill, a crowd crush at the municipal arena killed five young women. Police found about 16,791 people inside a venue with a stated maximum of 10,600, per Spanish Wikipedia, which attributes the crush mainly to overcrowding and errors by security and police. The same article notes that, two months later, Local Police closed parts of Fabrik on 31 December 2012 as a precaution. We have not sourced a list of the rules that followed.
Valencia
Why it deserves a close look
Valencia has the most mythologised club history in Spain and a modern scene that is smaller on RA and harder to read. Two surviving anchors, Barraca (in Sueca) and Spook Club (in Pinedo), sit outside the centre and run on a shuttle-bus, Saturday-night model, while newer rooms such as Oven and Killing Time operate in and around Ruzafa. In 2026 the city also made nightlife a political fight over noise.
A short history of the Ruta del Bakalao
The Ruta del Bakalao, also called Ruta Destroy or "La Ruta", was a weekend circuit of discotheques around Valencia. English Wikipedia dates it to roughly 1982 to 1996 and describes a 30 km circuit along the CV-500, the El Saler road, running from Friday to Monday. Its start is fuzzy: Spanish Wikipedia says the seed of the Ruta "has no clear origin date", points to late-1970s groups such as La Banda de Gaal in 1979, and says the word "bakalao" came from a record shop, Zic Zac, in 1983. "Ruta Destroy" is credited to Vicente Pizcueta, a Barraca director, who publicly called it the "Valencian Festival".
The anchors, per the two Wikipedia articles:
- Barraca: opened 6 December 1965 in a traditional Valencian barraca house at Les Palmeres in Sueca; Carlos Simo took over its booth in 1982 as programming moved from post-punk and synth-pop towards house and techno-pop.
- Chocolate: a former rice mill near Barraca, dark, gothic and industrial; sources disagree on dates (English Wikipedia says 1982, another guide 1980), so we leave the year open.
- Spook Factory: opened 1984 on the site of a former disco; techno and EBM.
- Puzzle (1986, synth-pop then acid house) and ACTV (1986, Malvarrosa beach, new beat and acid house).
The music drifted through the late 1980s and early 1990s towards EBM, techno and eventually a faster, simpler "bakalao" or makina sound; Spanish Wikipedia says ecstasy arrived around 1987 to 1988 and that by 1991 more than 30,000 young people were attending.
The comedown: English Wikipedia says that in late 1993 a police operation called "Operation Bakalao" put more than 100 Guardia Civil officers on the CV-500, with checkpoints, searches and helicopters. Spanish Wikipedia lists loss of drug purity, door violence and political and media pressure (including coverage after the Alcasser case) among the causes, with a steep decline from 1995 and the good atmosphere over in 1996, the year Spook Factory closed. Both are open-source summaries and partly uncited.
Afterwards, Spanish Wikipedia says, the scene deflated, then recovered from the early 2000s through new promoters. Spook Factory reopened in 2005 as Spook Club Vlc and took that name again in September 2008. Puzzle closed for good on 31 October 2011. Barraca is still open after about 50 years, Chocolate opens only occasionally, and the Friends after-hours at Bananas (summer 2004) was shut for good in 2006.
What the RA week shows, and what it doesn't
RA lists 52 upcoming events for its Valencia area on 24 Oct 2026, versus 388 for Madrid and 567 for Barcelona. From Sat 24 Oct to Sun 1 Nov it lists 20 Valencia events: 7 on Sat 24, 1 on Thu 29, 5 on Fri 30 and 7 on Sat 31, nothing on other days. In the Monday to Sunday week that is 13 events: Thursday 7.7 per cent, Friday 38.5 per cent, Saturday 53.8 per cent. All 20 are at eight venues: Spook Club, Oven Club and Resume Valencia (4 each), Barraca, 33/45 Club and Killing Time (2 each), Veles Vents and Madre (1 each). Titles include BRASKADA x Cosmic Anomaly & SRVNT (Killing Time) and Barraca x TheBasement Halloween.
Is 52 a weak scene? That is the wrong reading. The figure counts RA-listed events, which depends on which promoters choose RA. Our sources show Valencia nights ticketed elsewhere: Spook Club's Wololo Sound showcase (3 Oct 2026) and Barraca's Vertigo night (24 Oct) were on Xceed, and the Valencia Techno Culture collective's page lists a roster of Spook, Oven, Killing Time, La3, Barraca and La Ritmica. We did not count Valencia events on Xceed, Dice or other platforms, so we cannot say how much RA misses. What the data does show is that RA's Valencia week is Saturday-led and concentrated in a handful of venues, with 19 of the window's 20 listings on Friday and Saturday nights.
Clubs to know
Barraca is the living link to the Ruta. A listing guide gives its address as Avda. San Roc s/n, Les Palmeres, Sueca, with rooms called Circo, the original Barraca room, a Showroom for newer DJs, and a summer terrace; the Barraca room was rebuilt in 2007. Party nights are mostly Saturdays, about midnight to 07:30 or 08:30, 18+, with a return shuttle from Plaza Espana (22:30) and Mestalla (22:45) and a 08:00 return from the roundabout opposite. Barraca x Vertigo with Lilly Palmer on 24 October 2026 was EUR 10 without a drink or EUR 15 with one. Spanish Wikipedia adds the Barraca Music label (2008) and the Barraca Music Academy for DJs and producers (March 2025).
Spook Club carries the 1984 Spook Factory name. A guide gives Carretera del Rio 399, Pinedo, south of the city, with a main room and a second room called Cubo, open Saturdays, doors around 23:00 to 07:30, 18+ with ID; the 3 October 2026 showcase was EUR 15 for students and EUR 20 to 25 general. Xceed puts capacity at about 2,000 with large terraces; we found no official figure.
Oven Club is listed by Xceed at Gran Via de les Germanies 31 (an Xceed blog places it in Ruzafa), opens Thursday to Saturday, and runs minimal, deep, techno and house on a Funktion-One system, with entry around EUR 10 to 12 with a drink until 03:00 per that blog (October 2025). Xceed lists two Oven events on 24 October 2026.
Killing Time is in Ruzafa, with an Xceed listing at Carrer del Dr. Sumsi 21; the Valencia Techno Culture page shows it hosting two nights between 9 and 11 October 2026. Resume Valencia, 33/45 Club and Madre are on the RA list (4, 2 and 1 events), but we could not open a page for any of them, so no address, hours or prices. Veles Vents is not a club in the usual sense: its own site describes a waterfront building on La Marina de Valencia, built for the 2007 America's Cup and now an events venue run by Grupo La Sucursal; RA lists one event there.
Festivals and the calendar
The headline electronic festival is Medusa Sunbeach Festival in Cullera, first held in August 2014 (Spanish Wikipedia). Organisers reported about 180,000 attendees across four days of concerts in 2025 and 185,000 in 2026 (news from mid-August 2026; exact dates were not in the text we read). On the night of 13 August 2022, strong winds toppled structures on site, with one death and dozens injured per RTVE as cited there; the rest of that edition was cancelled and a judicial investigation followed.
The other fixed point is Las Fallas, 15 to 19 March, ending with the burning of the falles at midnight on 19 March; UNESCO listed it on 30 November 2016 (English Wikipedia). El Espanol reports that Fallas nights are exempt from the new club closing times below.
Regulation and the Ruzafa debate
The sharpest sourced story is the "zona acusticamente saturada" (ZAS), or acoustically saturated zone, for Ruzafa. El Espanol reports that the city announced on 21 April 2026 that it would declare Ruzafa a ZAS at the plenary session on 30 April; ESdiario reports it was approved on 30 April 2026 with the votes of the governing PP and Vox. Valencia Plaza reported in 2024 that a 2020 Superior Court of Justice ruling required the noise study behind it. Per El Espanol the measures cover 18 streets plus a surrounding "respect zone", suspend new terraces and extensions, block new background-music licences in certain venues, close convenience stores from 22:00 to 08:00, and set discotheque closing at 03:30 Sunday to Thursday and 04:30 on Fridays, Saturdays and holiday eves, with Fallas and certain holiday nights exempt. We could not open the final published text, so check the legal status of those hours.
Reaction split the city. The Asociacion Empresarial de Discotecas de Valencia and a Ruzafa hospitality association called it a "cortina de humo" (smokescreen) after a court ruling against festivals at the Ciudad de las Artes y las Ciencias, per El Espanol. A spokesman for the Coordinadora de Ocio y Hosteleria de los Barrios argued noise comes mainly from traffic and infrastructure; Compromis and the PSPV-PSOE called the plan ineffective. Whether it touches Barraca and Spook, which sit outside the city, our sources do not say. We found no sourced general closing time for discotheques across the Comunitat Valenciana, so we give none.
Ibiza
What RA shows right now, and why it is the wrong picture of Ibiza. On RA's Ibiza page, the count of upcoming events on 24 October 2026 is 42. For the nine days from Saturday 24 October to Sunday 1 November the daily listings are: Sat 24: 4, Sun 25: 3, Mon 26: 1, Tue 27: 1, Fri 30: 3, Sat 31: 4, Sun 1 Nov: 1, which makes 17 events (RA listings, 24 Oct to 1 Nov 2026). For scale, RA lists 567 upcoming events for Barcelona and 388 for Madrid on the same day. That does not mean Ibiza is a small scene. It means we are reading the winter tail. By the time this window opens, the big rooms have been shut for between about twelve days and three weeks, and RA, which only carries what promoters submit, is showing the venues that stay open. The summer peak, when a single Thursday can have a dozen ticketed parties, is not in these numbers.
How the season is structured
Ibiza clubbing runs on a calendar, not on a weekend rhythm (our Ibiza closing parties guide covers how the 2026 season ended). The clubs open in a rush around the International Music Summit in late April and close, venue by venue, in the first half of October. There is no single official closing date: one 2026 closing guide puts it plainly ("There is no single official date") and says the heavy hitters in 2026 were concentrated in one stretch from late September to Monday 12 October.
2026 openings. Dates below come from Experimental Group's opening-party calendar, cross-checked with TicketsIbiza.
| Venue | 2026 opening |
|---|---|
| Es Paradis | Sat 4 April |
| Pacha | Fri 24 April (grand opening weekend, Marco Carola on the Friday, Solomun on the Saturday) |
| Hï Ibiza | Sat 25 April |
| Ushuaïa | Sun 26 April |
| UNVRS | Sun 26 April |
| DC10 | Mon 27 April (Circoloco opening) |
| O Beach | Fri 1 May |
| Chinois | Thu 7 May (Defected), per TicketsIbiza |
| Amnesia | Sat 9 May (main opening party, start of its 50th anniversary season) |
2026 closings. Amnesia's own site confirms the Amnesia Closing Festival 2026 for Saturday 10 October: a roughly 20-hour finale from 17:00, with an open-air daytime stage (more than 25 DJs) and a night section across the Terraza, the Main Room and a new third indoor room called El Taller. Ibiza Spotlight reports the indoor capacity sold out in under three hours. For the other clubs we have only secondary listings. Techno Airlines' 2026 closing table has Pacha's Pure Pacha with Purple Disco Machine on Thu 1 October, Calvin Harris's closing at Ushuaïa and CamelPhat's at Hï on Fri 2 October, Black Coffee's Hï closing on Sat 3 October, Carl Cox's UNVRS closing and Solomun's +1 closing at Pacha on Sun 4 October, Defected at Chinois on Thu 8 October, Music On at Pacha on Fri 9 October, the ANTS closing at Ushuaïa on Sat 10 October and Circoloco's closing at DC10 on Mon 12 October. TicketsIbiza's list differs in places (it puts UNVRS, Ushuaïa and a Pacha closing weekend on 10 October), so treat individual dates as indicative and the overall window, 1 to 12 October, as solid. TicketsIbiza describes a normal-year closing window of 16 September to 18 October.
2027. No club has published official 2027 opening dates as of 24 October 2026. TicketsIbiza says no 2027 opening parties are announced, that IMS is confirmed for 2027 with dates and venues to be announced, and it projects an opening weekend of Fri 23 to Sun 25 April 2027 based on Pacha's recent pattern. That is a forecast, not an announcement. Ushuaïa's site is offering presale sign-up for "all 2027 Ibiza events" with no dates, and Hï's site is running an SS27 presale sign-up.
The big rooms and what they run
Residencies change every year, so everything below is 2026 and from the sources named.
Pacha opened in 1973 (Wikipedia) and sits at Ses Feixes facing Ibiza Town. Its group was acquired by Dubai-based FIVE Holdings in October 2023 for a reported EUR 302.5 million (Wikipedia). Its 2026 line-up, per Ibiza Spotlight and Techno Airlines: Solomun +1 on Sundays, Sonny Fodera on Mondays, Vintage Culture's Affairs on Tuesdays, Mau P's Baddest Behaviour on Wednesdays (5 August to 7 October), Purple Disco Machine's Pure Pacha as a weekly debut, and Marco Carola's Music On, which Pacha's own homepage confirms is still the club's New Year's Eve fixture. Pacha is also one of the few big names with winter dates on its site: a charity Gran Fiesta Solidaria on Sat 12 December 2026 (17:00 to 21:00, tickets from EUR 7) and Music On New Year's Eve on Thu 31 December (23:00 to 06:00, Marco Carola, Seth Troxler, Ilario Alicante and Frank Storm, tickets from EUR 60). RA lists Unknown at Pacha II on 30 October.
Amnesia in San Rafael dates its origins to 1976 on its own site and marked 50 years this season. Its 2026 programme, per Ibiza Spotlight's March roundup: You&Me on Thursdays, Glitterbox with Friday disco nights, a Cocoon night on Sunday 19 July, NEXUP's opening on Monday 25 May, and a one-off Jean-Michel Jarre concert on Sunday 5 July. The opening party split the two rooms: Terrace (Seth Troxler, Chris Stussy, Josh Baker, Joseph Capriati) and Main Room (999999999, Amelie Lens, Alan Fitzpatrick). Amnesia also owns Cova Santa, per Ibiza Spotlight.
Hï Ibiza opened on 28 May 2017 on the former Space site in Playa d'en Bossa (Wikipedia) and is run by The Night League. Its own site lists the S26 residencies: Francis Mercier presents Solèy (Mondays), East End Dubs presents Eastenderz (Tuesdays), Meduza and James Hype's Our House (Wednesdays) and Black Coffee (Saturdays). Club Room residents named on the site include Andrea Oliva, Paco Osuna, Jonas Blue, Maz, Miss Monique, Skepta and Indira Paganotto. Ibiza Spotlight adds Skepta's Mas Tiempo on Saturdays in the Club Room.
Ushuaïa (open-air club and hotel, Playa d'en Bossa) opened in 2011 and was co-founded by Abel Matutes and Yann Pissenem, per Wikipedia. In 2026 it carried Calvin Harris's double residency (Tuesdays and Fridays, per a residency round-up that cites other outlets), the ANTS colony on Saturdays and David Guetta daytime sets, with the usual caveat that one guide places Guetta on Monday at Ushuaïa and Friday at UNVRS.
UNVRS is the newest big room: it opened in summer 2025 on the former Privilege site near San Rafael, which was Ku from 1979 and Privilege from 1995 until it closed in 2019 (Wikipedia). Operated by The Night League, it ran Carl Cox on Sundays (21 June to 4 October), John Summit, Anyma's ÆDEN show, Jamie Jones and FISHER, plus David Guetta's Galactic Circus, according to Techno Airlines; Ibiza Spotlight lists FISHER on Thursdays and Black Coffee on 27 May, 22 September and 1 October.
DC10 is the counterweight to all of this. The venue beside the airport on the Carretera de Salinas is home to Circoloco, which began as a Monday-morning after-party and is still the Monday night (Wikipedia, which carries accuracy warnings on parts of its DC10 history). Circoloco opened its season on Monday 27 April and, per Techno Airlines, closed on Monday 12 October. DC10's own calendar shows a Circoloco DC10 New Year's Day party on 1 January 2027, with tickets via Dice.
Smaller rooms, beach clubs and the town venues
Chinois opened in summer 2022 in Ibiza Marina on the former HEART site, with Pacha on the next street (Ibiza Spotlight). Its 2026 nights: Defected on Thursdays, Bedouin's Saga on Sundays, Major League DJz's Echoes of Tomorrow on Fridays (29 May to 9 October) and Claptone's The Masquerade. It also ran an Easter four-night run with Seth Troxler and Maz.
Cova Santa, near San Jose, is an open-air amphitheatre built around an ancient cave; outdoor parties end at 23:00 and continue inside (Ibiza Spotlight). In 2026 it had PIV's longest run (19 weeks of underground house), One Tribe moving in for peak season and WooMooN, which Techno Airlines lists as closing on 2 October.
Es Paradis and Eden are the San Antonio pair. Es Paradis opened on 4 April and ran Fiesta del Agua on Saturdays, and Eden brought regular clubbing back to the resort with an Easter programme and Markus Schulz's Open To Close (Ibiza Spotlight). Both had parties on Saturday 22 November 2025, in Ibiza Spotlight's off-season preview for last winter, which suggests San Antonio is the other pocket of off-season life.
O Beach (opened 1 May) and Ibiza Rocks (hotel opened 26 March, pool club opening date TBA, per TicketsIbiza) cover the day and pool end. 528 Ibiza hosted Pikes Presents on Tuesday afternoons (26 May to 6 October), and Destino Five Ibiza staged four Solomun Outdoors dates. Boat parties are a separate economy: Pukka Up sailed three evenings a week from San Antonio, though see the rules section below.
What is actually open now
Here is the winter tail, with the RA listings of 24 Oct to 1 Nov 2026 as the spine.
Akasha at Las Dalias (RA lists 5 events) is the island's off-season anchor. It is a roughly 300-capacity club with a central DJ booth that opened in late 2021, inside the Las Dalias complex just before San Carlos, north of Santa Eulalia (Ibiza Spotlight). Its own site lists Supernova on Saturdays (24 Oct, 31 Oct Halloween, 7 Nov, 14 Nov) and Nido on Sundays: Sun 25 October is billed Nido (Summer Closing), Sun 1 November is Nido x Dia de Muertos (garden free from 12:00 to 20:00, club from 20:00) and Sun 8 November is Nido (Winter Opening). Ibiza Spotlight lists Nido dates through December 2026. The club is 18+ and Spotlight says it suits over-25s; online tickets are EUR 5 cheaper than the door and island residents get early free entry. The ticket prices on the Spotlight page render garbled (it appears to read from EUR 10 and from EUR 15), so confirm before travelling.
Esbirra in Es Cana (RA lists 2 events) is the locals' answer to the superclub. Its TIMEmACHINE is a vinyl-only minimal and house night on Saturdays, 23:00 to 06:00, with a symbolic entry of EUR 3 per La Voz de Ibiza's 2026 season page (other listings say EUR 5, and up to EUR 10 with a special guest). It is a collective night with no VIP area. The Halloween edition last year, on 31 October 2025, was billed as marking the end of the season. RA lists Heiko and Chelu Garcia on this week's bill, and a Halloween night with Dana Ruh; both are RA-sourced only, and we could not confirm the lineup on a second page. Chelu Garcia and Heiko are named in the collective by La Voz de Ibiza.
Sigma (RA lists 3 events, including its Elements Cave night) and Tomodachi appear on RA this week, as do Vybe Ibiza, Pikes Ibiza (a Halloween night) and Pacha Hotel. We could not open an official page for Sigma or Tomodachi, so we give no venue detail beyond their RA listings. Pacha has two events: the Unknown night at Pacha II on 30 October. Ibiza Spotlight's autumn 2025 previews are a useful reminder that "all the clubs close in winter" is wrong, but also that the winter menu is a few rooms, mostly Saturday, mostly local.
Practical facts: hours, rules, prices, transport
Hours. In December 2024 the Ibiza nightlife employers' association AEON (Noches de Ibiza) said discotheques currently run from 16:00 to 06:00 the next day, and asked for a new schedule of 22:00 to 06:00 with daytime leisure ending at 20:00. That was a request, not a rule. AEON also said daytime leisure in hotels and restaurants has no regulated hours or capacity even though the Consell d'Eivissa has competence (Noudiari, 19 December 2024).
The 2024 decree. In May 2024 the Balearic government toughened its tourism-excess rules. According to The Local and Euronews: shops in specified tourist zones may not sell alcohol from 21:30 to 08:00 (the Balearic government said this extended an existing rule), street drinking in those zones is banned except on terraces and licensed areas, fines run from EUR 500 to EUR 1,500 (up to EUR 3,000 for disruptive behaviour), and party boats may not operate within one nautical mile of the designated areas or pick up passengers there. On Ibiza the zone is Sant Antoni de Portmany (only part of the West End strip); on Mallorca it covers Palma, Calvia (Magaluf) and Llucmajor. Bars, clubs and restaurants can keep serving. Effective 11 May 2024 and due to run to at least December 2027. It builds on the 2020 ban on happy hours, two-for-one drinks and pub crawls.
A licence freeze, proposed. In 2026 the Consell d'Eivissa proposed freezing new nightclub licences island-wide as part of its tourism areas intervention plan (PIAT). First Vice President Mariano Juan said it would not close existing clubs. Most municipalities except Sant Josep have restricted new openings locally for about 15 years. The report describes a proposal only; we found no report of approval.
Prices. Ibiza clubs sell tickets by night and line-up, so there is no flat door price. Data points we can source: Pacha's charity party from EUR 7 and New Year's Eve from EUR 60, with VIP bookings from EUR 350 (Pacha site); Akasha roughly EUR 10 to EUR 15 off peak; TIMEmACHINE EUR 3 to EUR 5.
Getting around. The Discobus is the cheap club link: per Ibiza Spotlight's July 2026 guide, the D1 runs San Antonio, UNVRS, Amnesia, Pacha and Ibiza Port, the D3 runs San Antonio, DC10 and Ushuaïa/Hï, and new in 2026 are the D2 (Playa d'en Bossa, Ibiza Town, Pacha) and the D4 (Ibiza, Santa Eulalia, Es Cana). A single costs about EUR 4 to EUR 5 and full service ends in late September, with a lighter service in October. Pacha and UNVRS run free shuttles with proof of a ticket. Taxis: about EUR 16 from Ibiza Town and EUR 32 from San Antonio to Hï, and EUR 32 to EUR 37 from Ibiza Town to Akasha. In winter, assume a taxi or a car.
Mallorca
The numbers, in context. RA lists 10 upcoming events for Mallorca on 24 October 2026, and 4 in the nine-day window to 1 November (Sat 24: 2, Sat 31: 2) (RA listings, 24 Oct to 1 Nov 2026). As with Ibiza, that is the winter tail. The venues RA surfaced are Barraco in Deia (a Halloween party), BCM (an Abraham Mateo Halloween night) and Hotel OD at Port Portals.
How the island is structured
Mallorca is a more mixed, more tourist-led nightlife market than Ibiza, without a single international electronic calendar. A 2026 editorial guide from Sandbeds groups it into resort superclubs in Magaluf, club-and-lounge venues in Palma, and beach clubs along the coast. The honest label for most of it: commercial first, with electronic pockets.
BCM Mallorca is the Magaluf superclub; the Sandbeds guide ranks it first and calls it a summer venue, but its capacity is not stated. Its own site shows the winter diary: a Halloween night with Abraham Mateo on 31 October, an afternoon party called Afrodise on 25 December and a New Year's Eve event called RESET on 31 December. It does not state season opening or closing dates.
AMOK Mallorca, in S'Aranjassa near Platja de Palma, is the clearest all-year venue. Sandbeds lists it as open all year, and its own calendar shows, in the same window as RA: Parapaila Circus Edition and CACAO on Sat 24 October, Bonitx Halloween on Fri 30 October, Tribu Halloween Sunset Party and Mentiroso Halloween on Sat 31 October, then Andrea Oliva on Sat 7 November (23:45 to 05:00, tickets from EUR 15) and Jackies Mallorca with Hot Since 82 on Sat 14 November. Ticket prices on its site range from EUR 5 to EUR 60 (Mentiroso Halloween is the EUR 60 night). AMOK did not appear in our RA snapshot summary, which shows how selective RA is for Mallorca.
Palma has the year-round clubs: Sandbeds lists Selva Club (Son Castello industrial park) and Kaelum Club (Santa Catalina, afternoon start to early hours) as all-year venues and Social Club Mallorca (Paseo Maritimo) as summer. Mallorcard, a travel-card site, adds Club Nautico, Anima Beach and La Demence. These are promotional guides, so treat them as a starting list, not a verdict.
Beach clubs and small rooms. Mallorcard's January 2026 guide, a travel-card site, also names Mood Beach Club (Costa d'en Blanes, near Portals Nous), Nikki Beach Mallorca (Calvia), Koa Beach Club (Santa Ponsa) and, in Palma, La Demence (popular with the LGBTQ+ community, with drag shows) and The Club at 404, described as a small underground-style room for local and electronic acts. It gives no hours, seasons or prices for any of them.
The north-east has the summer holiday clubs. Sandbeds lists Banana Club Cala Rajada as May to October, Wednesday to Sunday, and Bolero as April to October.
Seasonality: what exists now
The structural difference from Ibiza is that Mallorca has no single opening and closing weekend. Resort and beach venues are summer businesses (Sandbeds tags BCM, Social Club and the Cala Rajada rooms as summer or April to October), while a handful of Palma and Platja de Palma rooms trade all year. In late October the island therefore runs on two things: Halloween, which is the one date every venue wants (BCM on the 31st, AMOK on the 30th and 31st, Barraco in Deia and Hotel OD at Port Portals on RA), and the year-round rooms with a regular Friday and Saturday calendar. After that the next dated peaks we can source are Christmas Day and New Year's Eve at BCM. For an electronic fan the practical advice is to treat Mallorca in winter as a weekend city-club destination, built around Palma and AMOK, rather than a festival-style island.
Rules and practicalities
The May 2024 decree applies in Palma, Calvia (Magaluf) and Llucmajor: no shop alcohol sales from 21:30 to 08:00, a street-drinking ban in the zones with fines of EUR 500 to EUR 1,500, and party boats kept one nautical mile off the designated areas (see the Ibiza rules section above). Sandbeds' general guidance has Mallorca clubs running from about 23:00 or 00:00 to 05:00 or 06:00 but gives no prices or capacities, so we do not state any. Barraco in Deia and Hotel OD at Port Portals appear on RA this week, but we could not open an official page for either, so we cannot describe them beyond that.
Malaga and the Costa del Sol
Malaga is the best-covered area on RA outside the big four: 35 upcoming events and 16 in the window (Sat 24 Oct: 5, Sun 25: 2, Thu 29: 1, Fri 30: 3, Sat 31: 3, Sun 1 Nov: 2).
The venue with the best paper trail is Studio Club, which despite the Malaga label on listings sits in Torremolinos on the Costa del Sol. Spanish press in June 2023 described it as the former Palladium discotheque reopened under a new name. Its Xceed page describes two rooms, an industrial main room with an L'Acoustics sound system for international electronic DJs in day and night sessions and a "Gallery" room for artists and exhibitions, tagged techno, tech house and melodic house and techno. Its 2024 programme previewed on Xceed included Ben Sims, Kolsch, Paula Temple and Fatima Hajji, and Diario Sur reported in February 2026 that Jeff Mills would mark the 30th anniversary of his "Live at the Liquid Room Tokyo" album there. Studio Club had four RA listings in the window: Xceed shows STUDIO X BOUNCE on Sat 24 Oct and STUDIO x RECREO on Fri 30 Oct with JEA, Olivia Babe, LaVidaDeJaime and Richill Skills. Diario Sur and Malaga Hoy reported that Recreo, a Malaga party, sold 1,500 tickets for a Studio Club edition in August 2024.
Doggy Kloeb (four listings), The Club (Malaga, three listings), Paris15 (two, including an Abstract x H4T3R Halloween night) and Goofy Bar appear on RA, but we could not open an independent page describing any of them, so we claim nothing about owners, promoters or residents. Outdoors, Sophie Festival is documented: Trommel reported its first edition in 2022 as nine Sundays across July and August, opening on 3 July with Paul Kalkbrenner, and Vinetur reported that by September 2024 it was in its third season, had booked Peggy Gou, Charlotte de Witte, Jeff Mills and Nina Kraviz, and closed with a sold-out Solomun night at the newly opened Ogus Park in Malaga. For this weekend RA lists a "Sophie Especial Halloween" with Jeff Mills on Sun 1 Nov, which we could not confirm elsewhere, and a Metrica Open Air season closer on Sat 24 Oct.
Alicante and Benidorm
Alicante shows 10 upcoming RA events and 3 in the window (Thu 29 Oct: 1, Sat 31 Oct: 2): Sonido Alicante (two listings) and Azotea 37, which hosts a "5 years of MUELLE" Halloween party. We could not open a page describing either venue or confirm what MUELLE is beyond its RA listing, so we name no promoter or resident. The local electronic press shows a scene that is not primarily on RA: Wololo Sound reported Kobosil at the first edition of Nexo in April 2025, a joint party between Omen, Marmarela and Matadero, and covered TClub Alicante's second anniversary with Cristian Varela in October 2024.
Benidorm has no RA footprint at all this week (0 upcoming, 0 in the window), and that is the point: its nightlife is mass-market tourism, not a ticketed electronic circuit. Wikipedia describes a concentration of bars and clubs in the centre, free cabaret acts from around 21:00 that often run into the early hours, and British-style pubs that can stay open until 3am, with a tourist mix of roughly half foreign visitors (the UK, Ireland, Norway, Belgium, the Netherlands) and half Spanish. We found no sourced list of named current clubs, so we give none.
Bilbao and the Basque Country
Bilbao is thin on RA: 8 upcoming events and one in the window, Aleron Club Bilbao at Sala Santana 27 on Sat 24 Oct. Salir.com places Santana 27 at Telleria 27 in the Bolueta area near the L1 and L2 metro lines, calls it one of the best-known party rooms in Bilbao, lists hours of 00:00 to 05:30, and says it also trades as Fever on some nights across several rooms of techno, house, hip-hop and pop. We could not find a page describing Aleron Club itself. Basque electronic coverage runs through larger rooms and festivals: Wololo Sound reported Richie Hawtin at Sala Sonora in Erandio in March 2026, and a Kulturklik listing shows elrow at the BEC on 21 Nov 2026. In San Sebastian, Dabadaba appears twice in RA's "South" bucket; Basque press describes it mainly as the city's live-music room, with club-style nights built around it.
Canary Islands
RA shows 7 upcoming Canary events and 4 in the window (Sat 24 Oct: 1, Sat 31 Oct: 3): a Tenerife warehouse night called 0006 Tenerife (146 RA "interested"), the Asymetric Tunnelvisions party at Barranco Seco in Gran Canaria, and Papagayo Beach Club. We could not verify 0006 or Asymetric from any page. What press headlines do show is that Tenerife works more as a festival island than a club island: Eolica Festival at ITER Granadilla on 16 and 17 Oct 2026, elrow Tenerife, Sunblast, and a Blackworks Tenerife hard-techno edition on 5 and 6 Dec 2026 (Teneriffa News).
Seville, Granada, Girona and Gijon
We found no sourced venue detail for Seville or Granada, and only RA listing names for Girona (a "Fires" event) and Gijon (Teatro Albeniz, two listings).
Spain-wide: hours, rules, festivals and safety
Closing hours are regional, then municipal
Spain has no single national closing time. Autonomous regions set the framework and town halls can extend or cut it.
- Catalonia. During the exceptional Christmas extension (21 Dec 2025 to 6 Jan 2026), a Departament d'Interior order let discotheques and dance halls close at 05:45 Sunday to Thursday and 06:45 on Fridays, Saturdays and holiday eves, according to Diari de Tarragona. The article says the extension added up to 45 minutes, which implies ordinary hours of 05:00 and 06:00 (our arithmetic, not stated in the article).
- Valencia region. Consumoteca (updated 23 Dec 2025) gives discotheques and dance halls 17:00 to 07:30, with a 60-minute extension on listed dates including 31 October.
- Madrid region. The framework is Order 1562/1998. The Community of Madrid said in a 30 April 2022 press release that discotheques and dance halls keep a 17:00 opening and 05:30 closing; several current listings show nights to 06:00 and after-parties to 08:00, which we cannot reconcile, so check any specific night.
- Balearics. Hours are set largely by councils. The Calvia ordinance, published in the BOIB in 2020, caps discotheques at 06:00.
Afters, tardeo and age
"Afters" (after-hours sessions that start when licensed clubs close) are a real part of Madrid and Ibiza nightlife and sit in a grey legal zone: Spanish press has covered unlicensed after-hours in Malasana and Chueca with neighbour complaints and enforcement. Licensed daytime sessions are growing: El Periodico noted in June 2025 that "tardeo" (late-afternoon drinking and dancing) was spreading to venues with and without Interior permits. The one sourced door norm is age: 18 is Spain's minimum age to buy or consume alcohol (Wikipedia). We found no reliable source for typical entry or drinks prices across the country, so we give prices only for specific nights cited above.
Festivals and 2027 dates
- Sónar (Barcelona). 18 to 20 June 2026 (held) and 17 to 19 June 2027, per sonar.es.
- Primavera Sound (Barcelona). Main days 3 to 5 June 2027 at Parc del Forum, with a free opening day on 2 June and the closing party Primavera Bits on 6 June headlined by Richie Hawtin, Four Tet and Dixon (Line of Best Fit, Catalan News). Tickets are 350 euros general and 545 euros VIP plus fees (The Fader).
- Monegros Desert Festival (Huesca). The official site is titled "Monegros Desert Festival 2027" but shows no dates, so the 2027 date is unconfirmed. Wikipedia says it began in 1994 as the Monegros Desert Rave and that the 2022 edition returned with more than 55,000 attendees.
- Medusa Sunbeach (Cullera, Valencia) is covered in the Valencia section, and the Halloween Balla Barcelona Festival in the Barcelona section. For the wider European 2027 picture, see our festival guide.
Rules and debates
The regulatory fight in 2026 is mostly about noise and tourism. Valencia's Ruzafa noise zone and the Balearic 2024 decree are covered in their city sections. In Barcelona, ARA reported in November 2023 that the city suspended two decrees that capped bar and terrace hours around Plaça George Orwell, and Time Out reported in 2019 that the beachfront club concessions were not renewed. For the European picture of how often such decisions close rooms, see our club closures tracker.
Safety
After a wave of reports of spiking by needle in summer 2022, Spanish regions published protocols: Catalonia's included HIV prophylaxis and urgent tests (20Minutos, 31 July 2022), Mossos had received 23 complaints (El Punt Avui, 2 August 2022), and Confidencial Digital reported in August 2024 a summer without such complaints after added security. Cadena SER and Diario de Ibiza reported on 13 October 2026 around 90 drug-possession complaints filed in Sant Antoni during discotheque closing parties. We could not find a source confirming current drug-checking services at Spanish clubs or festivals, so we describe none.
How we built this guide, and what we could not confirm
The RA data. On 24 October 2026 we read RA's public listing pages for each of its 13 Spain areas, in date order from that Saturday through Sunday 1 November (Barcelona, Madrid and Valencia through the whole week; the other areas through the same date, where they had events), and counted events by day and venue. RA's own "upcoming" totals are quoted as shown on 24 October. We did not collect individual event or promoter pages, so the RA numbers here cover event titles, dates, venues and "interested" counts, and any promoter or resident named in the guide comes from club sites, press or RA's clubs guide, with the source named.
What the data cannot tell you. It is one week, it includes Halloween, and it is the start of the Ibiza and Mallorca winter. It reflects RA's coverage, not the size of a scene: Valencia's two best-known clubs sell tickets on other platforms, and Madrid's Monday and Tuesday blanks coexist with weeknight programming at venues that RA does not carry. A second snapshot in June or July would show Ibiza at its peak.
What we could not confirm.
- Who stands behind many of the recurring Barcelona nights listed on RA (Lost, Inner Circle, Electrostad, EELF, Seguim, Higher, Fury, Polenta, NOM and others): no club page or press source names them.
- Anything about M7 Club and Row14 in Barcelona, and about Sala Coco, Subcero, High Club Room, Arana Club, Club Magno and Hangar48 in Madrid, and Resume, 33/45 Club and Madre in Valencia, beyond their RA listings.
- Resident DJs: we name residents only where an official club page says so (Moog's weekly hosts, Hï's 2026 residencies, Pacha's and Amnesia's 2026 nights from Ibiza Spotlight).
- Final closing hours in Madrid, the final published text of Valencia's Ruzafa noise zone, and Ibiza's official 2026 closing dates for several clubs (only secondary calendars list them).
- Typical entry and drinks prices across Spain, and drug-checking services.

quick wins
- On RA, Barcelona has 567 upcoming events and Madrid 388; no other Spanish area has 60. In the week of 26 Oct to 1 Nov, Barcelona listed 134 events (62 per cent on Friday and Saturday) and Madrid 58 (98 per cent from Thursday to Saturday).
- Barcelona's core rooms are Razzmatazz, Sala Apolo (Nitsa), Moog, Macarena, INPUT, LAUT and City Hall; Madrid's are Fabrik, Mondo Disko, Specka, The Bassement, LAB theCLUB and a layer of small specialist rooms.
- Valencia's heritage clubs, Barraca and Spook, sit outside the city; RA lists only 52 upcoming Valencia events, but its promoters also sell on other platforms.
- Ibiza clubs opened between 4 April and 9 May in 2026 and closed in the first half of October; no club has published official 2027 opening dates.
- Closing hours are set by region and town hall: Valencia's region lists 17:00 to 07:30 for discotheques, Madrid's 2022 order gave 05:30, Calvia on Mallorca caps at 06:00.
- Sonar is 17 to 19 June 2027 and Primavera Sound's main days are 3 to 5 June 2027.
Frequently Asked Questions
Which Spanish city has the most electronic events?
Barcelona, on Resident Advisor's listings. On 24 October 2026 RA showed 567 upcoming events for Barcelona and 388 for Madrid, and no other Spanish area had more than 60. RA lists only events that promoters submit, so it over-represents ticketed electronic nights.
What time do clubs close in Spain?
It depends on the region and the town. Catalonia's Christmas order of 2025 let discotheques close at 05:45 on Sunday to Thursday and 06:45 on Friday, Saturday and holiday eves, which implies ordinary hours of 05:00 and 06:00. The Valencia region lists discotheques from 17:00 to 07:30. Madrid said in 2022 that discotheques close at 05:30, although some current listings show later nights. The Calvia ordinance on Mallorca caps discotheques at 06:00.
When does the Ibiza season start and end?
In 2026 the big clubs opened between 4 April (Es Paradis) and 9 May (Amnesia), and closed in the first half of October, with Amnesia's Closing Festival on 10 October. No club has published official 2027 opening dates, and one ticketing site forecasts the weekend of 23 to 25 April 2027, labelled as a forecast.
What was the Ruta del Bakalao?
A weekend circuit of discotheques around Valencia, running along the CV-500 from Friday to Monday, roughly from 1982 to 1996 according to English Wikipedia. Barraca, Spook Factory, Chocolate, Puzzle and ACTV were its anchors. A police operation on the road in late 1993 and a decline in the mid-1990s ended its heyday. Barraca and Spook Club still open today.
Is Valencia's club scene small?
Not necessarily. RA lists only 52 upcoming events for Valencia, but that counts events promoters put on RA. Barraca and Spook sell tickets on Xceed and other platforms. What the RA week shows is a Saturday-led scene concentrated in a handful of venues.
Which clubs should I try in Barcelona?
For electronic music: Razzmatazz (the Human night on Saturdays), Sala Apolo (Nitsa), Moog (techno, open every night), Macarena Club (an 80-capacity room), INPUT (Funktion-One, open weekends), LAUT and City Hall. Check each club's agenda: Nitsa, Human and Moog's weekly hosts change by night.
How old do you have to be to go clubbing in Spain?
Spain's minimum age to buy or consume alcohol is 18, and clubs set their own rules. Specka and The Bassement in Madrid say 18+, LuLa 21+, and Fabrik wants a passport or national ID card (not a driving licence). Check the venue before you go.
When are Sonar and Primavera Sound in 2027?
Sonar runs 17 to 19 June 2027 and Primavera Sound's main days are 3 to 5 June 2027, with a free opening day on 2 June and the closing party Primavera Bits on 6 June.
