Best Techno and House Festivals in 2027: Dates and Tickets

19 techno, house and experimental festivals have confirmed 2027 dates, from CTM in January to Draaimolen in September. Dates, tickets and TBA list.

Nineteen of the festivals in our guide have confirmed 2027 dates. The first is CTM Festival in Berlin on 22 to 31 January 2027, and the last is Draaimolen in Tilburg on 10 and 11 September 2027. A twentieth, Dekmantel, has only an estimated slot at the turn of July and August, and three more are still TBA: Junction 2, Sunwaves and Unsound. One of the 19, Kappa FuturFestival in Turin, is already sold out on its official ticket page.

If you came here searching for techno festivals in Europe in 2027, a techno festival in 2027, a house festival in 2027 or just a rave in 2027, this is the page that puts every date, city and ticket status on one screen. Everything below comes from our own festival dataset, which we re-check against each festival's official site, plus a fresh read of those sites on 16 October 2026. We found no conflicts with the dates we already list.

Last checked 16 October 2026. Festival dates, lineups and ticket sales change without much warning, so confirm everything on the festival's own site before you book travel. Our 2027 festival calendar is updated whenever the dataset is.

Which techno and house festivals have confirmed 2027 dates?

Nineteen festivals in our guide have confirmed 2027 dates as of 16 October 2026, with CTM Festival the earliest on 22 January 2027 and Draaimolen the latest on 10 and 11 September 2027. The full month-by-month view lives on our 2027 calendar page, and the sorted table in the next section is the quick version.

The shape of the year is easy to read. Winter and spring belong to the city festivals and the single big nights: CTM in January, DGTL Amsterdam in March, Time Warp on 3 April, Rewire in The Hague in April, Lentekabinet in May and Movement in Detroit on 29 to 31 May. June brings Waking Life and Sonar. Then July does what July always does: Kappa on 2 to 4 July, Awakenings on 9 to 11 July and Sea You on 16 to 18 July are three consecutive weekends, and the last weekend of the month is a pile-up.

That pile-up is worth planning around. Nature One runs 29 July to 1 August, Garbicz 29 July to 2 August and Nachtdigital 30 July to 1 August, with Dekmantel's estimated slot landing in the same days. August then stacks Houghton on 5 to 8 August, and three festivals in the last week: MUTEK in Montreal on 24 to 29 August, Berlin Atonal on 25 to 29 August and Dimensions in Croatia on 26 to 31 August. You cannot do all of them, and you should decide which one you would actually miss.

When is each festival in 2027?

The table below lists every festival in our guide that has a 2027 start date, sorted by date. Ticket status is what we could verify on 16 October 2026 and will go stale; the festival page linked in the first column carries the full notes.

Two footnotes. Dekmantel is the only row marked as an estimate: its ticket shop is live, but the festival's own site had published no 2027 dates when we checked, so we do not call it confirmed. And Dockyard Festival, the daytime ADE techno day at Havenpark in Amsterdam, is on 24 October 2026, so it belongs to this year's calendar, not next year's.

Which 2027 festivals are in Europe?

Eighteen of the 20 festivals with 2027 dates are in Europe: everything on the table above except Movement in Detroit and MUTEK in Montreal. Germany and the Netherlands have six each, and together they hold two thirds of the European list.

CountryFestivals with 2027 datesCount
GermanyCTM Festival, Time Warp, Sea You, Nature One, Nachtdigital, Berlin Atonal6

ItalyKappa FuturFestival1
SpainSonar Barcelona1
PortugalWaking Life1
PolandGarbicz Festival1
United KingdomHoughton Festival1
CroatiaDimensions Festival1

If you want to browse by country, we run hubs for the two heavy hitters: techno and house festivals in Germany and festivals in the Netherlands. The Dutch list is the more varied of the two, running from a zero-waste docklands weekend in March (DGTL) to a not-for-profit woodland festival in September (Draaimolen). The German list ranges furthest in scale, from Time Warp's single 19-hour night and Nature One's four-day rave on a former missile base to Nachtdigital, which our festival page describes as a deliberately small, capped gathering at a bungalow village.

One date outside the festival world is worth knowing if you are planning a European winter: Bloc is coming back for one night at The Cause on 6 March 2027, according to our reunion story. It is a single event, not a festival, so it is not on the table.

Which festivals are best for techno, house, experimental and modular fans?

The best festival depends on how you like to hear music. Our short answer: Awakenings and Time Warp for techno, Nachtdigital and Draaimolen for minimal and house with a small-crowd feel, CTM, Rewire and Berlin Atonal for experimental and electronic, and the modular crowd is better served by the festivals in the dedicated section further down. The reasoning follows.

Which festivals are best for techno fans?

Awakenings is the only festival in our guide tagged techno and nothing else, and it marks 30 years since the first night at Amsterdam's Gashouder in 1997. The 2027 edition is at Beekse Bergen, with doors listed as 15:00 to 23:00, and the brand's own site describes a bill of more than 120 artists across eight areas. Time Warp is the opposite proposition: one night, 3 April 2027, a 19-hour run across five stages at the Maimarkthalle in Mannheim, which the festival bills as the only German edition of the year. Kappa is the big daytime one, but it is sold out. Draaimolen is the one for people who want techno without a headliner arms race: individual artists and labels build entire stages in the woods of the MOB Complex. Nature One is an open-air rave first and a curated lineup second, with about 20 floors on the former Pydna missile base, and its bill runs from club techno to hardstyle, which is what a rave festival looks like when it has been running since 1995.

Which festivals are best for minimal and house fans?

Nachtdigital, now a biennial gathering branded "Nachti", is the most intimate: it capped attendance at roughly 3,000 tickets for most editions between 2007 and 2019, and the 2027 edition is 30 July to 1 August at Bungalowdorf Olganitz. Sea You is the house and techno festival built around a lake: six stages, three of them with views of the Tunisee, and more than 150 acts. Dimensions swaps the lake for the Dalmatian coast, a six-day run at The Garden in Tisno, and Houghton is the one for long, patient DJ sets in a Norfolk country estate, curated by Craig Richards with camping included in the general admission ticket. Dekmantel and its spring sibling Lentekabinet are the pick if you want house and disco next to live acts and art. Waking Life in Portugal mixes house and techno with ambient and experimental programming over six days.

Which festivals are best for experimental and electronic fans?

CTM is the one to start with: its 28th edition, themed "Process...ing", spreads across Berlin venues for ten days from 22 January, and the first acts announced on 16 September 2026 included Modeselektor and Kali Malone. Rewire fills The Hague with concert halls, churches and clubs over four days in April. Berlin Atonal runs in the turbine halls of Kraftwerk Berlin and has been biennial since 2023, so 2027 is an on year. Sonar covers the widest ground, from techno to digital art, with the Sonar+D creativity and technology congress alongside. MUTEK does the same job in Montreal for live electronic and audiovisual work.

Which festivals are best for modular and sound-art fans?

None of the festivals above has announced a modular synth lineup for 2027, so we will not promise you one. The festivals closest to the idea are the ones that book live electronic and audiovisual work; the next sections sort the verified options.

Which festivals have not announced 2027 dates yet?

Three festivals in our guide are TBA for 2027, and a fourth, Dekmantel, has only an estimate.

  • Junction 2, London. As of 16 October 2026 the official site no longer leads with the Junction 2 name. It reads "The Bridge, Boston Manor Park, London, Summer 2027" with a sign-up for first access to tickets, and gives no dates. The tenth-anniversary edition, J2 X, ran on 25 and 26 July and 2 August 2026.
  • Sunwaves, Golden Sands, Bulgaria. The festival's site lists SW39, a Spring Edition at PR Beach, as its 20th anniversary and mentions early bird tickets, but publishes no date range. A countdown on the page points to 30 April 2027; we keep the festival as TBA until an official schedule appears.
  • Unsound, Kraków. The latest edition ran 2 to 11 October 2026 across Warsaw and Kraków. Nothing is published yet about 2027.
  • Dekmantel, Amsterdam. Estimated late July or early August, tickets on sale, official dates still missing. The 2026 edition ran from 29 July to 2 August.

Sonar and Houghton have dates but no lineups, no on-sale and, for Sonar, no announced venue, so treat them as half-confirmed. Sonar's 2026 edition moved to a single site at Fira Gran Via in L'Hospitalet de Llobregat, and its official ticket page still showed 2026 when we looked.

Turin and Italy: Kappa FuturFestival

The Turin techno festival is Kappa FuturFestival, and the 2027 edition runs from Friday 2 to Sunday 4 July 2027 at Parco Dora. As of 16 October 2026 the official ticket page shows general admission, VIP and Gold all sold out, with a waiting list for the next release. It is the only Italian festival in our guide, and the page you want is our full Kappa FuturFestival guide.

The setting is the draw. Parco Dora is a public park built on the site of Turin's former Fiat and Michelin steelworks, and the festival's Vitali lot still has the rust-orange support towers of the old mill standing over the crowd. The festival started in 2009 as a one-off event in a Turin city square tied to the centenary of the Futurismo art movement, took its current name and daytime format in 2012, and has used Parco Dora since 2013. It runs noon to midnight over three days, is 18+ with ID required, and Italian press reported about 125,000 attendees for the 2026 edition, according to the details on our festival page.

The bookings are broad, from house and disco to some of the hardest techno on the calendar, and recent years have included names like Nina Kraviz, Charlotte de Witte and Amelie Lens. For 2027, no lineup is announced and tickets are gone, which puts you in the waiting-list queue. Per the festival's FAQ, a ticket resale and name-change window runs from 31 May to 25 June 2027, which is the realistic second chance. One honest oddity: when we read the official ticket page on 16 October 2026, it showed every category as sold out and also carried an early bird banner. Trust the sold-out status and the waiting list, not the banner.

Modular and experimental festivals

If you searched for a modular synth festival in Europe, the honest answer is that Europe has fewer dedicated modular festivals than people expect, and we only list what we have verified. Our guide has no modular-only festival. What it does have is five festivals that treat live electronic music, sound art and instrument-led performance as the main event rather than a side stage.

FestivalDatesWhy it fitsPage
CTM Festival22 to 31 January 2027, BerlinTen days of club music and sound art plus a daytime discourse and workshop programmeGuide
Rewire8 to 11 April 2027, The HagueExperimental, electronic and club artists across theatres, churches and clubsGuide
MUTEK24 to 29 August 2027, MontrealLive electronic music and digital creativity, with a professional Forum strandGuide
Berlin Atonal25 to 29 August 2027, BerlinNew commissions, premieres and installations in Kraftwerk BerlinGuide
Unsound2027 dates TBA, KrakówExperimental, electronic and leftfield music, part of the TIMES network with Sonar and Berlin AtonalGuide

Sonar belongs on this list too, with its Sonar+D congress. The reason to be careful with the word modular is that none of these has published a 2027 lineup beyond CTM's first announcements, so we cannot tell you which will program modular performers. What we can tell you is that the instrument itself is in the news: our piece on Teenage Engineering and the end of its synthesizers covers the maker of the OP-1 saying it plans to stop making them.

There is one event that fits the modular and synth search better than any of the above, and it is not in our guide yet; see the next section.

Which other 2027 festivals are worth watching?

Three more events have confirmed 2027 dates on official or ticketing pages we read, and are not yet in our festival guide. Treat this table as a shortlist from outside our dataset, not as verified entries: we have not run them through our full check.

EventDatesCityStatus as of 16 October 2026Source
Terminal V4 to 6 June 2027Glasgow, at Clydeside LiveEarly bird tickets went on sale 2 October 2026; 18+Skiddle tickets

Superbooth276 to 8 May 2027Berlin, at FEZ-BerlinTickets from December 2026Official site

Terminal V is the one our readers will recognise. It spent nine years in Edinburgh, and Beatportal reported the move to Clydeside Live for a 10th anniversary edition. Skiddle lists the day as 12:00 to 22:30 with last entry at 17:00, and it is billed as the festival's first fully outdoor three-day edition. No lineup is out yet. We covered the Edinburgh farewell in our festival cancellations post, where it counts as a relocation, not a collapse.

Nuits Sonores is the Lyon festival from the Arty Farty organisation, and its official site lists it as part of TIMES, "The Independent Movement for Electronic Scenes", the network our Unsound page ties to Sonar and Berlin Atonal. The 2027 page offers a pre-registration form, not tickets, so that is the only official link we can point you to right now.

Superbooth27 is the answer for the modular and synth crowd. The official site says the next edition is on 6 to 8 May 2027 at FEZ-Berlin, with tickets from December through the Superbooth ticket page. Be clear on what it is: the site frames it as a trade fair, with exhibitors, a floor plan, talk concerts and partner logos from synth publications, not as a club festival. It does not publish an exhibitor or visitor count, so we will not quote one.

How to buy tickets safely

Buy from the festival's own shop or the vendor it names, and use only the resale channel the festival names. Each festival below tells you which channels it accepts, and we have kept the list to vendors named on the festivals' own pages.

FestivalOfficial primary vendorOfficial resale or transfer route
AwakeningsAwakenings shopTicketSwap
Junction 2SEE Tickets (2026 edition)TicketSwap, the only official route
MovementEventim, via the festival siteTixel, all sales final
RewireFestival ticket shopTicketSwap, capped at 100 percent of face value
Waking LifeRaffle platform run with PaylogicTicketSwap, the only legitimate channel
DraaimolenCelebratix shopOfficial resale platform

MUTEKMUTEK box office, passes via WeezeventCheck the festival's rules
KappaOfficial ticket store, Klarna instalmentsResale and name-change window 31 May to 25 June 2027

A few rules follow from that table. Start from the festival's own site or our page for it, because a ticket sold anywhere the festival does not point to is a risk you are taking on yourself. Where the festival states that tickets are personalised, as Waking Life does, expect your name to be checked at entry. Where it says tickets cannot be changed or cancelled, as Draaimolen does, the official resale platform is your only way out. And if a sold-out festival like Kappa lists a waiting list, join that rather than a stranger's inbox. For the bigger ticketing picture, see our coverage of the Ticketmaster and Live Nation DOJ verdict.

What changed since 2026?

The short version: some festivals went biennial, some moved, a few stopped, and most of the weather and cost trouble landed outside our list. Our festival cancellations story sourced the wider wave, and we only repeat what that post sources.

  • Pauses and exits. Mysteryland skipped 2026 on purpose to start from scratch, and has confirmed it will return in 2027 with a new concept. Ground Zero ran its last edition on 30 August 2025. Music On's Amsterdam festival lost its permit over structural safety concerns in May 2026, while its Pacha residency in Ibiza carried on.
  • Weather. An extreme heatwave in late June 2026 cut Defqon.1 short and led to Solidays being cancelled.
  • Moves. Terminal V left Edinburgh after nine years and has announced Clydeside Live in Glasgow for 4 to 6 June 2027.
  • Scale of the problem. The Association of Independent Festivals counted 78 UK festivals cancelled, postponed or closed in 2024, 43 in 2025 and 20 by 10 June 2026, per Pollstar's report.

Inside our own list the changes are more specific. Berlin Atonal is now biennial, with editions in 2025 and 2027 and a one-off 2026 collaboration with Unsound. Nachtdigital became the biennial "Nachti" in 2023 and returns in 2027. Sonar merged its day and night programmes into one site in 2026, and its founders stepped away in October 2025, after which it is operated by Superstruct. Draaimolen nearly lost its site: the province of North Brabant said in September 2025 that the MOB Complex would no longer be available for festivals from 2026, a petition gathered more than 26,000 signatures, and the province later allowed the festival to stay for up to three years under conditions. Junction 2's official site now reads "The Bridge, Boston Manor Park, London, Summer 2027" instead of the festival name. And if you follow UK artists onto European lineups, our piece on Brexit and touring for DJs in 2026 covers what the 2026 touring talks mean.

What we make of it

This section is RTS.FM's own opinion, not reporting. Dates and ticket facts above come from the sources we link; the points below are how we would read them.

  1. Book the small, dated festivals first, and treat the giant sold-out ones as a lottery. Draaimolen, Nachtdigital and Waking Life have published precise sale mechanics, which is a better signal than a famous name. Kappa has already shown what waiting costs. The strongest counter-argument: small independents carry the most site and permit risk, and Draaimolen's near-loss of the MOB Complex is exactly that risk made real.
  2. Do not book flights for a TBA festival, but do join its list. Junction 2, Sunwaves and Unsound all gate first access behind a sign-up or a later announcement, and Dekmantel's estimate is just an estimate. Hold your budget, not your dates. The strongest counter-argument: by the time dates land, the cheapest tiers are gone, and Houghton and Kappa are the kind of festival that sells through quickly.
  3. Treat early, specific announcements as a good sign, not a guarantee. A festival that tells you the raffle window, the early-access day and the resale rules is organised enough to be worth your money. The strongest counter-argument: announcements are marketing, and Summer Camp in the US had its 25th anniversary edition cancelled about two weeks before it opened.

quick wins

  • Nineteen festivals in our guide have confirmed 2027 dates, from CTM on 22 to 31 January to Draaimolen on 10 and 11 September 2027.
  • Kappa FuturFestival in Turin (2 to 4 July 2027) is already sold out; join the official waiting list and watch the 31 May to 25 June resale window.
  • Three are TBA (Junction 2, Sunwaves, Unsound) and Dekmantel has only an estimated date, so do not book travel for those yet.
  • Late July is crowded: Nature One, Garbicz, Nachtdigital and Dekmantel's estimated slot overlap, and Berlin Atonal, MUTEK and Dimensions overlap in late August.
  • Sale dates to diary: Nachtdigital 1 November 2026, Draaimolen 27 and 29 October 2026, Waking Life second raffle 5 to 24 November 2026, Berlin Atonal in December 2026.
  • Outside our guide, Terminal V Glasgow (4 to 6 June 2027), Nuits Sonores in Lyon (5 to 9 May 2027) and Superbooth27 in Berlin (6 to 8 May 2027) all have dates. Last checked 16 October 2026; dates can change.
