Lost Frequencies turned a SoundCloud remix into one of the biggest Belgian dance exports of the 2010s. Felix De Laet, the Brussels producer behind the name, saw "Are You with Me" climb to No. 1 in Belgium in November 2014 and then across much of Europe. A decade on he is a regular in DJ Mag's Top 100, runs his own label and remains one of the few Belgian artists whose catalogue sits comfortably between pop radio and the festival main stage.
Felix De Laet and the Name
Wikipedia gives his birth date as 30 November 1993 in Brussels, which makes him 32 as of November 2026. According to a February 2026 interview in Square Mile, he began making music in his bedroom in Belgium and practised by remixing and bootlegging forgotten tracks, including songs by Bob Marley. That habit is where the stage name comes from: Wikipedia says he used old songs, which he called "lost frequencies", as raw material for remixes.
"Are You with Me" and the Breakthrough
The record that made him was a remix of Easton Corbin's "Are You with Me". Wikipedia says the track was discovered on SoundCloud by Armada Music A&R Marwen Tlili, and the official release followed on 27 October 2014. It topped the Belgian Ultratop chart on 15 November 2014 and reached No. 2 on the Walloon chart. In 2015 it went to No. 1 in Australia and Austria and into the top 10 in Finland, France, the Netherlands, Norway, Spain, Germany, Poland, Ireland, Switzerland, the UK, Sweden and Turkey, according to Wikipedia.
The success earned him two Echo Awards in 2016, for Dance International and Hit of the Year, both for "Are You with Me".
Found Frequencies and the Albums
On 24 November 2017 Lost Frequencies announced Found Frequencies, a label launched in partnership with Armada Music, according to Rave Jungle. The imprint was set up to release his own music and to back emerging and established artists, and its first release was "Crazy", a collaboration with the Dutch duo Zonderling.
His first studio album, Less Is More, came out on 21 October 2016. Alive and Feeling Fine followed on 4 October 2019, with a Forbes feature marking the release, and All Stand Together arrived in 2023, per Wikipedia, which gives no exact date for the third record. Singles in between include "Reality" with Janieck Devy in 2015, "Beautiful Life" with Sandro Cavazza on 3 June 2016, and "Questions" with James Arthur on 3 June 2022.
Where Are You Now and the Brit Nomination
His biggest hit since the debut single is "Where Are You Now" with Calum Scott, released in 2021. Wikipedia says it reached No. 5 in Germany and No. 1 on the Irish Singles Chart, and it earned him a nomination for Best International Song at the 2023 Brit Awards. In 2017 he also had a Belgian No. 2 with "Here with You", a collaboration with fellow Belgian producer Netsky.
Lost Frequencies in DJ Mag's Top 100
Wikipedia lists his DJ Mag Top 100 history as a new entry at No. 26 in 2017, up 91 places, then 17 in 2018, 20 in 2019, 21 in 2020, 25 in 2021, 28 in 2022 and 22 in 2023. The consistency is the point: where a headline act can swing wildly year to year, his place in the mid-teens to high-twenties has barely moved in nearly a decade. For how that vote works, see our guide to DJ Mag's poll.
Lost Frequencies and Belgian Techno
Lost Frequencies is not a techno artist. His sound is deep and tropical house with a pop top line, and he sits closer to Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike than to the hard-techno names in our Belgian techno guide. But he is one of the clearest examples of a Belgian dance act breaking out through a SoundCloud remix and a pop-leaning house sound, a route that Charlotte de Witte and Amelie Lens then took in a very different genre.
What He Is Doing Now
In the February 2026 Square Mile interview he said he was preparing to return to touring in 2026 and planned to begin work on a new artist album that year, with studio time and collaboration talks already underway at an early stage. His official site, lostfrequencies.com, carries current tour listings.
